I believe Jesus simply elaborated on it much more. It has been said that the Old Testament is the New Testament concealed, and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. Jesus simply brought things to light. I believe you can find judgment, punishment, resurrection, and eternal life all in the Old Testament if you look hard enough.

"The way of life winds upward for the wise, That he may turn from hell (Sheol) below" (Prov. 15:24).

"As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness" (Psalm 17:15).

"The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congrgation of the righteous" (Psalm 1:5).

"But the Lord shall endure forever; He has prepared His throne for judgment. He shall judge the world in righteousness, and He shall administer judgment for the people in uprightness" (Psalm 9:7, 8).

"The Lord has made all for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom. EVERYONE proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Though they join forces NONE will go unpunished" (Proverbs 16:4,5).

PEACE

Christianity is a conglomerate of many other religions in the area at the time. This is how we got Christmas in the winter even though he was supposedly born at the time of new lambs, aka spring.

The concept of Hell comes from Hades, God of Death in the Roman Faith. Mount Sinai is simply their rework of Mt Olympus, vestiges from the vestal virgins (followers of Hestia), the river Styx from the stygian river and a host of other things.

One write off of this is that when Rome went Catholic they tried to integrate everyone in by editing the bible and putting a pagan spin on it. This was at the peak of Rome so beliefs from Egypt, Britannia, Greece, Babylon and even influences from India had worked their way in.

The bible is bunk. Don’t hate, Don’t steal and Don’t kill. If there is a god that should be sufficient.

Unlike Judaism, Christianity is based on salvation. How can you have salvation without heaven and hell? What would be the point of being saved if there was no place to go after you die, either for reward or punishment?

Because the concept scares some people into submission. When it was invented there was a need to control the masses of people. Politics is todays way of doing so.

So that must mean that Christians think that the rabbi jews his the verses stating that there's heaven and hell, since it's the same God, any other opinion would mean that you doubt Christianity.
