There is not a chant you must say, or a sacrifice you must burn. You must simply mean what you are repenting with every ounce of your being. You have to really try to not do that same thing again, and surrender whatever you've done to God. He will take it from there. :]]

Well first an understanding of the word repentance is important. The word repent means to change your mind. Some have interpret it as meaning "turn away". That is also correct. Let's take some examples. If your sin is stealing then if you repent you would not steal any more. If your sin was not worshiping God (Idolatry) than if you repent you would begin to worship God and turn away from Idols. Whatever the "sins" are in your life or whatever it is you are not doing for God then to repent would mean you turn away from your sins and start doing what God has you to do. Living by the principles of the Bible is a good way to start doing what God wants for you to do.

repentance is not just being sorry nor is it covering up. repentance is a change of mind. changing your mind from the wrong things you usedto do and trying to do the right ones. and as i say it bro, we men can only try....because the possibility to this again and again is just big. but remember....changing your mind on a thing is not anymore putting your heart into it. at times you did it again but you feel sorry for yourself that youve done it again and hates it, then probably that s what repentance is all about.

and one more thing....true repentance can change your name into mr. everything, how's that?

what type of repentance? The only one I can comment on is that if you are becoming a true Christian, all you have to do is believe sincerely with all your heart that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, rose again and conquered death so you could go to heaven. Here are some verses to help if that is what you are looking for. Thanks and have a great day!

John 3:15-17
Romans 3:23

True repentence means turning away from your sin...in other words, tell God you are sorry (wholeheartedly), then don't do whatever you are sorry for anymore. Believe in Him, have faith that He will help you overcome temptation (that means just because you are sorry doesn't mean you won't be tempted to do it again). To make your repentence true means that you are really, truly sorry for whatever sins you have committed, and confess this to God and ask forgivness, having faith that He will/does/has forgiven your sins (in fact, He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for us and give us a sacrifice for our sins...to remove them and make us new again...all you have to do is ask, sincerely, and forgivness is yours). Once you have repented, work very hard to avoid doing the same thing again. Good luck on your journey, and God be with you.

According to the Bible, " acts befitting repentance." But that would be "works" and you can't work your way there. A dilemma.

Confess your sins, make a firm decision to avoid that sin and the circumstances that tempt you to it and ask God for the grace to live out your commitment to Him and in Him to others. Ask God for the Grace to help you to heal the harm done by your past sins.
