No, the beach is usually where my dog picks up fleas. However, when this happens I put frontline on my dog and it works wonderful.

No, salt water will not keep fleas off your dog. Try using something like Frontline. This helps in keeping fleas off your dog. If your dog already has fleas, it's best to rid them with a bath with flea shampoo.

No sorry if it was only that simple, The fleas/ticks come from the long grass. The only way to keep your dog clear is use a flea comb catch any that are already there & drown them or snap them in half, thats the only way you know if they are dead trying to squash them will not work.
Try advantage, I have seen frontline seems to be causing a lot of allergies with the dogs that have used it, if the area you have used any spot on treatment becomes red & sore for the dog bath with warm water & contact your vet it is an allergic reaction to the treatment you have just used

Well...interesting but no. I'm a vet tech and I must admit I've heard a lot of strange things out there. Really the only things that are going to help are products designed to rebel fleas. There are many but personally frontline plus I feel is the best out there so far...it rebels fleas and ticks....just as long as you don't bathe your dog 48hrs before or after, you'll see your best results if you do that. Also, the box says to use at least every three months but it IS clinically safe to use it monthly and you'll have better protection this way. I know it's a little on the expensive side but it works. And plus it's going to cost A LOT more to get rid of fleas. Hope that helps! :)

No, the dog isn't in the water long enough and shortly after he gets out, he'll get the fleas from the beach. Things like Frontline and Advantage work pretty good for fleas and way better than flea collars.

No. You don't go in salt water without rinsing it off, do you? If you do, you'd know that it dries your skin. Soapy water, since it has no surface tension, gets into fleas' tracheae and drowns 'em. Of course an insecticide mixed in (flea shampoo) does an even better job. Use a commercial flea killing product.

Yes, it will certainly keep the fleas off your dog, but it will also dry out your dog's skin and fur and probably give him eczema. There are flea powders that will do a much better job and will be kinder to your dog's hide.

No saltwater will dry the skin, and make it easier for fleas to dig in their skin, and make hot spots.Give your dog a flea bath ,and use vantage to keep fleas off.

No salt water will do nothing for fleas. Only thing you can do is buy some frontline for him from a vet its not the expinsive and it last for one month.
