Yes, to be healthy is to be wealthy. If we get very sick, we realize this.
Americans need to reduce their consumption and waste production period. Over-consumption of food is only part of their problem. Unfortunately, reducing their food intake, will not free up food for others. World food marketing and distribution is more complex than that.
Material wealth does create stress in the human mind and does for some ultimately create bad health. However, it doesn't work that way for all. Some people are energized by the idea of power, influence, control, and making scads of money. When they do get sick, they can afford the best medical care too. Consider too that poor people are extremely stressed. Understandably.

It is said a businessman spends his 1/2 his health, creating wealth and then has to spend his 1/2 his wealth to re-gain his health!
We should all only eat enough to maintain our bodies. If we cup our hands together in begging position, that is the amount of food we should consume in a single meal. We should leave 1/3 of the stomach empty. We eat 3-4 hours apart at least. Very few Americans have learned
any basic knowledge about proper eating habits, but India has all this knowledge much more available.
Wealthy perceive themselves as not needing anything, so spirituality is harder for them. Spirit maintains the body. Wealth also puts more attention of the ego which often prevents spiritual growth.

Its like this health is wealth means if you are good at health you can earn lots, and wealth is bad health meaning if you only earn then you would develop a bad health, it means only wealth is not u r life there are lots of others and second you should also see where is your wealth being utilized if its utilized for good purpose like feeding poor people, or building temples then your wealth has some meaning, its a saying in hindi that kitna bhi ho paisa bajna chaiye means money should be heard and it can only be heard when its utilized in good activities.

well, I guess utopically you are right, but we do not live in utopia. The fact is by the time the tomatoes from my garden get to Asia or Africa to feed the starving children the food would be rotten. So the best bet would be to eat it or waste it. Since we are taught, waste not want not, I choose to consume it.
If I only ate half of what I eat now, then I wouldn't eat enough to stay alive.
So in response to your preachy self righteous attitude, GET A LIFE. If we wanted your opinion on our eating habits, we would have asked, since we didn't, please go on with your "pious" life and leave ours alone.
Also another thing we are taught "judge not"

No one wants to be sick in this world.
Every one wants good health with which he can achieve his goals in life .
A man without health can not achieve any thing and he can not earn any fame also which is the very objective of ones life.
Every religion says that one will inherit a good portion in heaven according to his good deeds only .
If a man fails to do any good deed ,he can not inherit any special award in heaven.
A sick man can not save a small child which is going to be crushed by the metal wheels of a fast -running train.
But a healthy man can some how act hastily and ofcourse save the child from being hurt by the wheels. of the fast- moving train.
To do any good deed one needs health.
With health he does good deeds, and
with good deeds he enters in to heaven
That is the real success of a man.
Thus health helps a man live a successful life on earth and also helps a man even inherit heaven also.
But ,too much of food makes a man dull ,sluggish ,lazy and even sick .
More people die of gluttony than of starvation.
The more money one has ,the more sleep he loses.
It is just a mystery , but it still happens on earth : No rich man sleeps well. Sleeplessness is the root-cause for all health problems and diseases.
A man eats too much and meets with a premature death .
What is the use of eating too much ? He wants to live but exactly the opposite thing happens.
Better he can share his extra benefits with people who are badly in need of it.
There are people who suffer in some poor countries like Somalia.
The afluent Americans can come forward to feed the hungry there.
It will give them some more happiness, peace and satisfaction and lead them to still more health also .
To feed many and enable many survive ,
is the greatest lesson of all the lessons.
( a proverb)
" I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat..."
Mattew 25:42 )
A question of a poet:
"What is sharper than the thorn?
Poverty is sharper than the thorn.", [ the poet gives the answer.]
Let us all live together
or Let us all perish together [ an another proverb ].
The rich man didn't give any food to Lazarus when he was dying with hunger.
Lazarus died and went to heaven.
The rich man who didn't give any food to Lazarus just went to hell and cried among the Fire for want of a drop of water.

Wealth is not forbidden. The LOVE of money above the Love of God is.
Even if I eat half of my normal food today, the other half is still not available to those who need it......there has to be more to the plan than reduction of consumption.

believe you me,
health and wealth both are not at all inter-connected,
health is partly by past acts and partly depands on present act,
hence health can be controlled to some extent by present act,
(to the tune of 99% +)
while welth is only on the past act, it can not be influenced by the
present act, not at all,
i may have deviated from the tract of your question,
but health has no connection with the wealth...

gluttony and wealth are not the same thing.
perhaps if all the bloody god botherers stopped telling everyone money was evil and started saying, its actually a good thing it is simply a trade/ exchange system ... we could all get along a lot better ....and actually enjoy life!
