Does our fledgling species test well in the human experiment, on this egg floating in space most of us one day hope to hatch from? If you believe the Bible, then you MUST realize that God put us on THIS planet. It's our HOME. we NEED to take care of it because our resources ARE finite and NOT unlimited. If we screw this world up, we will NOT automatically recieve another to screw up.

The Bible warns against worshipping the creation rather than the Creator. I think that is a good place to start with this question. Before we get carried away with the earth or its inhabitants and all of our achievements, it would do us well to spend a little time in acknowledging the One who created the heavens and the earth. We are the creation, we are the only judges. We are the universe come to life. We are the consciousness of the cosmos, of the world. There is no ultimate goal for humanity, each of us provides a purpose for ourselves in our own lives.
