Whe was a follower of Jesus of Nazareth, was one of the women who provided him with money and food while he was traveling, was there when he died, and the first one to see him resurected. Traveled around and converted people after that. There are theories that she was married to Jesus and that the Church was supposed to be started by her not Peter.
She was NOT a prostitute, there was a prostitute in the Bible named Mary, there is NOTHING that says that that was Mary Magdalene and not one of the other 12 or so Maries in the Bible.

When she first met Jesus, she was a prostitute.
He explained to her that He was the way to salvation and that if she repented from her sins - (her way of living) that she would be forgiven and would have a place with him in heaven. She did so and became a devoted follower. She also, along with Jesus' mother, Mary, witnessed Jesus' tomb being empty 3 days after he was crucified.
