Why is it wrong to do that? It is natural and everyone does it. Maybe you should have a talk with him about when it is appropriate and when it isn't. For example, alone in his room is ok, but in public is bad.
Perhaps you should review your own manners and knock before entering his room. Everyone deserves privacy, no matter what their age.

I would not tell him it is wrong. The doctors will tell you it is not wrong. Just talk to him and make sure that this is unacceptable to do infront of people and it needs to be done in privacy.
You need to knock on his door.
If you tell him it is wrong , he will not understand these feeling and you will give him selfesteem and body issues. You dont want your son to feel that his body his a sick or bad thing.
most boys and girls do this.
I would recommned talking to a peditrican if the child is younger and if he is older it is time for dad or mom to explain the birds and the bees to him.
Good luck

You need to worry about telling your son more important things than masturbation. There is nothing wrong with masturbation. Everybody does, has done, or will do it and one point of their life or another. It perfectly healthy, and it actually is proven to increase some chemical to make you feel happier. Maybe you should try it before you tell your son that it is wrong. And I agree with everyone else. Have you ever heard of knocking?

I also walked in on my son..... No mother should have to walk in on that. It is something you cant block out of your memory.....
Bottom line is you cant stop him.... If he has discoved it feels good, he will continue doing it, which is normal. Just have a talk with him and make it clear that it is only to be done in private...... With the door closed.
Never just walk in always knock. And wait for an answer. My son was in my livingroom. LOL I know he still does it but I havent walked in on him again....
Masterbation is the safist sex you son can have.......... His hand isnt going to give him an STD or make you a grandma !!!!!!!

It isn't wrong to do that. All you would be doing is instilling shame and guilt in him. It's natural (and important for a healthy sex life later on). The real question should be "how do I explain when and where is the correct place to do it". THAT'S the only issue you should worry about. If he's older, you may want to knock before you enter his room.

How old is your son? And why is it wrong? It's a natural behaviour and common in children. I chose to set guidelines, such as that it's only to be done in private not in public, that you shouldn't let others touch you, that you don't touch others, that sort of thing...rather than tell my son it was wrong.

Personally, I don't really see it as wrong as long as he was doing it in private. It is his body and he should not be ashamed of it. So as long as he does it in private, maybe you should let it alone. If it really bothers you, seek the advice of your son's Dr. Good luck

It's wrong for you to tell anyone what they can and cannot do with their own body. You telling him it's wrong will only start a horrible trend of sexual confusion.
