I let my 2 Senators and my Representative know via email that I'm aware of the fact that, when it was rejected a couple of weeks ago, the Bill was over 600 pages, self contradictory, confusing and offered amnesty to anyone here prior to 12/31/2004.
Now it is over 1000 pages and offers amnesty to anyone here before 12/31/2006!
I also let them know I think it is foolish and misdirected. It doesn't address several important issues, and their continued efforts to push it through over the protests of millions of voters is likely to result in outrage from Americans in general.
If the Border isn't secured, they may expect changes come next election.
I received form letters in response. They said they were working on it, and they were trying to resolve the issues.
I expect they will push it through as soon as possible in hopes that the voters will forget about it by November 2008.
Historically, they may be correct, but I have NEVER seen such an outcry from the voting public in my lifetime, so MAYBE we got their attention.

The will of the majority is finally being heard on this issue. If the elites in this country get their way, America will be changed forever and not for the better. While it is not possible to round up 12 million illegals it is certainly possible to stop the invasion we suffer today. Several things need To be done. 1) build a border wall, complete with landmines to stop those who would trespass. Land mines have a big advantage over border guards in that they do not need to be trained, have no health care benefits to pay for, never need retirement pay or SS checks, and do not need training. They also do the job without discriminating. 2) stop taxpayer provided benefits, including government school education, any and all health Care including emergency room treatment and all other subsidies. This will stop those who come here looking for a hand out. 3) arrest , try, convict and jail all who employee illegals. This prevents those looking for work from coming here. It will take time to round up the illegals but considering what will become of America if we don't it's worth the effort

Your link seems to support the fact that we are making
a difference, and like you said we need to keep sending
emails, writing letters and making phone calls to our
Congress men and women with the same message.
"If you vote for the bill we will vote you OUT of office"
And we need to keep our promise to them regardless if
the bill fails, vote out those that supported it, show them
that when we speak we mean what we say. Congress
needs to realize that the work for US.
I know that I am keeping my score card, Feinstein and
Boxer will not get my votes.

Honestly I think they will smoke screen it like this for a few weeks and then in the middle of the night - it passes; and again a few weeks later is "squeeks" through the House and of course Bush signs it. Keep up the pressure though.
