I have been using the leg machines at my gym but have noticed big bruises on the back of my thigh? Is it from working my muscles too much or too hard?

most likely it is from nutritional deficiencies in the diet but in general women do bruise easier then men and it can be genetic as well

Wow...never heard of that...are you a girl that bruises easily? I would assume you are...are you talking leg extention machine? If so I would say you just bruise very easily....try doing squats instead. If you have never done squats get some professional instruction before attempting as it is very important to use proper form.

I guess that it could be....I have been experiencing huge bruises on my legs that appear to come from nowhere. At least you know where your are coming from....;)
I would try to not lift as heavy a weight next time. Good luck!

Yeah i say so.Im covered in bruises from exercise's.
