It depends on how bad the acne is.If its just a bit, then have him try washing his face twice a day with clean and clear for sensitive skin.Pat face dry and put on Oxy.Also don't touch your face. You have oils on your hands and that gets on your face, making the acne worse..If he has severe acne..See a dermatologist. He might have him take one pill a day to help cure it..It may be expensive to see one the first time but your face is worth the expense of not having acne and all those bad scars..Good luck. I just noticed your additional details..If he has it everywhere he deffinatly needs to see a Dermatologist! Proactive will not work if it's all over like that.

There are different reasons for acne. If he is a teen or in early twenties, it is most likely hormonal. If he is older, it can be stress and poor diet.
I suggest your boyfriend do some simple things; eat healthy, drink plenty of water (not sodas or alcohol which have sugar), get exercise and have washing habits (don't use deodorant soaps on the face, use a soap for acne).
Try this for at least 6 months and see if there is a difference. If not, see a dermatologist.

use a real gentle soap like basis and then use it with a wash rag twice a day every day - dont use all that other stuff it will just make it worse - he may also need antibiotics -- so maybe go see a skin dr for that they can give lose dose antibiotics for a few days every month or so that will help a ton i know as i am in the same boat

Have him see his doctor for anitbiotic therapy. Acne is caused by the staph bacteria coming to fight off the dirt and oil that clogs the pores. He needs to see a doc if over the counter products are not working.

I sound like a commercial but Proactive works really great for acne. I've had a few friends use it and it worked great on them.

tell him to try pro activ sollution, my 15 year old sister used it(She had very bad acne) and it cleared up 95% of her acne.
