In the past year I've lost 45 pounds through dieting and exercising the old fashioned way. But in the past 2-3 months I haven't been able to lose anymore weight. I'm 5'5'' and weigh 128 pounds. I'd love to lose 10 more pounds and not being able to has made me depressed because I still don't feel good in my body. I need tips on how to lose the "last 10".
My daily caloric intake is around 1,200. I eat cereal for breakfast, something like Special K or Total. For lunch I have salad. Dinner often varies but its usually some meat with veggies. I always snack on fruit once or twice a day and sometimes have a yogurt in place of a serving of fruit. I drink water all day long.
For exercise, I do weight resistance every other day for at least 30 mins and I do cardio every day for 45-60 mins. I usually do the eliptical or run. I also do tons of crunches and sit-ups.
You would think this would be a good plan to lose weight but its obviously not. I need to try something else. Help!!!!

this is very, very common and is typically caused by one of two things. you have been on a reduced calorie diet for too long and your metabolic rate has slowed or your metabolic rate has increased and your current caloric intake isn't sufficient. either way you need to increase your calories for several weeks to reset your metabolism. I would increase the cals to at least 1600 slowly over the next couple of weeks. increase them by 10% each week until you reach 1600 cals stay at that for several weeks as you increase your intensity of training then slowly decrease them by 10% each week until weight loss occurs

Well it seems as if you are already eating healthily - if anything you should be eating a little bit more than 1200 a day. You are currently at an ideal weight with your bmi being 21.3, so I would suggest continue eating as you already are & don't try & lose any more weight, as you really don't need to.

To successfully lose weight, you must carry out
a plan to balance your caloric intake with exercise.
Ideally, dieting should be done by eating a nutritionally
balanced, low-calorie diet and increasing physical activity.
