There was actually a total of six carrier battle groups that launched aircraft during the conflict. The carriers were the USS Midway, USS John F Kennedy, USS Ranger, USS America, USS Theodore Rosevelt in the Persian Gulf and the USS Saratoga in the Red Sea.

My son was on the USS Carl Vinson an aircraft carrier and he was there in the gulf. They were relieved by the USS Constitution or it might have been the Enterprise (not sure which) when their tour was up.
