The reason I think I may be pregnant is that I have a very irregular period and its been about 5-6 weeks since my last one. (I've gone that long before so it could just be that but I'm still scared) I was wondering is it possible for me to still get pregnant if my parter touched himself before putting on the condom (getting precum on his hand) then touching himself again after putting on the condom (therefore getting the precum on the outside of the condom) My friend told me that sperm dies almost instantly when it touches air so I should be fine. But I'm not so sure about it. I talked about getting some pregnancy tests but she (my friend) says that they will come up negitive. Also I've been getting these cramps since then, I cant tell if there cramps because my period is soon, if im stressed, or in the worst case I'm pregnant. Can someone please help me, I'm really scared about the whole ordeal. If someone cares enough to IM me please go ahead, my AIM is ShareThatCookie. Oh also im 16

First and foremost you should stop worrying. Getting yourself worked up and into a state doesn't help your general health.
I'm guessing you haven't had sex many times before.
Condoms, if used correctly, are an extremely effective method of contraception and you should feel confident using them. Most brands carry spermicide in the lubricant that coats them, which should alleviate your fears regarding precum on your partners hands.
If your period fails to start and, especially, if the cramps continue without a sign of your period, you should see your doctor.
At 16 you are starting out on a lifetime of sexual activity that should be rewarding and trouble-free for you. When your fears have died down about this I suggest you get some good advice about areas you are unsure about and check out some good books on the subject so you are prepared in future.
Well done for using contraception. Good luck.

if your stressed or haven't been eating right or have a bad diet that is why your period is late.
i highly doubt you're pregnant, there is spermicide on condoms so when your partner touched himself and touched the condom the majority of the sperm died instantly. another thing you have to remember is your cerv mucous is very acidic and kills sperm that it comes in contact with. the reason why women get pregnant after a guy "finishes" in her is because of the range and speed the sperm is travelling, think of it like a tampon, you put the applicator in and when you push it up the tampon goes in even higher.. it's the same thing.
oh and i'm sure the cramps are just because of your period, you don't get cramps after a week, thats why people say if you don't take a test you may not even find out your pregnant until a month or two later,
hoped this helped.. don't worry i've been in the same position as you many times and i've come out fine in the end..

You had protected sex, so the risk of pregnancy should be quite low, compared to unprotected sex.

To clear up a few things, sperm are actually very hard to kill. They can be in (surrounded by) pre-ejaculatory fluid and thus can survive exposure to air. Some condoms (depending on the type purchased) are lubricated and contain spermacide, but condoms also expire, so it's possible that the spermacide is not as effective after the expiry date.

Most home pregnancy tests are accurate on the first day of a missed period. It would be a good idea to pick one up at your local pharmacy and follow the directions exactly. Some have two sticks, so regardless of the results, you can test again a week later.

In the future, you can visit your doctor. Even a low-estrogen birth control dosage can prevent an unwanted pregnancy but also regulate your period, making it less heavy and even less painful.

Barrier methods, of all kinds, including condoms and diaphrams are only 86% effective at preventing pregnancy. This is generally because of improper use. Very rarely because of poor manufacturing.

Unless you specifically purchase condoms without spermicide, just about all condoms are packaged in a spermicidal lubricant for just such reasons. It helps to double up on the prevention.

Sperm is temperature sensitive, and requires the moisture of the ejaculate to survive for any length of time outside of the body.

Its so incredibly highly unlikely that transferred sperm from the penis, to the condom and then introduced into your reproductive tract would ever cause a pregnancy that its just not worth worrying over.

If an extended period of time goes by without a period, take a test. Otherwise, just chill. A pregnancy test will not work until you're due for your period. Or about 14 days after conception.

As a side note, it should always be added that the purpose of sex is to produce babies. Penis in, baby out, eventually you having sex will result in a child. Until you and your partner can come to terms with that, its best to abstain. Short of having your ovaries removed, its impossible to provide 100% prevention.

Condoms are covered in spermacide. What you are describing is nearly impossible, but condoms are not always 100% perfect. It is too soon for symptoms. I suggest you just give it a week or so before testing at least since you have such a long cycle.

In the future, get on birth control so you aren't so paranoid about this and you KNOW you aren't pregnant.

It's a scary situation to go through, I've been through it a couple of times in the past because my ex girlfriend had the same irregular period. Just don't worry about, I doubt you're pregnant pre *** should not carry and sperm in it. I would still recommend you get a pregnancy test, it will ease your mind.

Sorry about your luck. That's what happens to people who fool around. Even with condoms, sex still isn't 100% safe. Next time keep your pants on.

THERE IS NO SPERM IN PRECUM UNLESS THERE IS SOME LEFT OVER IN THE URETHRA FROM A PREVIOUS EJACULATION. BUT DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. TRY THE DOCTORS.
