Yes. Chills can come from illness and also from psychological issues. Here is an example; you are fearful when you have anxiety and that fear produces certain hormones ("fight or flight") those can produce symptoms of fear (shaking, chills, etc.).

I suggest that you get professional help for depression and anxiety. Seek out a good counselor who will treat you with talk therapy and work on your issues. The best thing you can do is be honest with yourself about why you are feeling the way you do. Take care.

It sure can,but if this person is on antidepressents or antianxiety meds they can be the biggest contributer. When you are depressed your body slows down as mainly all you want to do is sleep to make it go away so you're not up and moving.Chills, muscle and joint pain, dizziness are all not uncommon with this. They claim Cymbalta helps with theses symtoms,my husband and our daughter is taking that med which has not helped with either the pain or the depression, but each of us is different so it may work on some. But get some help as you suffer so much with this illness it has to be addressed.Good luck

Absolutely. I suffer from depression on-and-off, and one of my symptoms is psychosomatic illness.

I often feel nauseous, or exhausted constantly. I develop aches and pains, headaches, brain fuzz.

There is no cause, other than that I am depressed.

Your mind holds a lot more control over your body than you think.

I have put myself in so much pain I vomitted from the sheer intensity and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, only to find out nothing was wrong with me. It's bizarre.

One of the symptoms of depression is the occurrence of non-specific bodily aches which is called 'somatization' in medical parlance. I have not read anywhere about chills as a symptom of depression.
