Why do atheists bash Christians?
Well, think about this one. We are on a website that requires us to write in English. All English speaking nations that I know of are overwhelmingly Christian. Those who are most comfortable writing in English have mostly grown up around Christianity.
Christianity is not only the most popular religion in the world, it is the religion OF the most powerful. We live in democratic countries where it is important that the people make informed decisions. And we know that what people do affects us all.
Christians try to pass laws that affect us all - such as eliminating abortion; or having their religion enshrined in our documents, and buildings; restricting the rights of gays; and trying to put religion in our schools.
Look also at President Bush... the man said he was told by God to invade Iraq. Apocalyptic Christians may be all to happy for the next nuclear war to come along (do we really want them in charge of our weapons?).
The truth is, Christians affect us the most so it is them we wish to educate.

I think its because most Atheist in the English speaking world are surrounded by Christianity much more than any other religion, it has much more of an impact on our everyday lives than say Islam, I'm sure its just for cultural reasons.

I think it's because Christians here speak the loudest, and most English speaking atheists had to break away from Christianity, so they know it better.
I'm on a truthdig discussion about religion, and it's always the Christians the come. Maybe a Jew or two, but never a Muslim. Out of the Big three, Christians seem the most desperate to 'convert and hurt'. I've never had a Muslim tell me off for being atheist. I've had a Jew tell me that they knew they were right, but never have they told me off.
Christians? I'm arrogant. I'm a b****. I'm stupid. I suck. I should rot in hell. And so on. They insult me constantly, and thus, they get more crap for it. If they were nicer and didn't try to forcibly convert me all the time, maybe I would be kinder.

Welcome....!
Thank you for your Astute Observation.... and Wisdom!
They cannot Persecute.... JESUS..... and will not Have Him... as LORD... and yet still .... think that they will get away from Judgment Day!
They Don't Love GOD..... neither do they Even Love .... Themselves!
GOD.... has provided His Escape from the End.... and they Reject IT!
(Ecclesiastes 12:13-13) Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
(Ecc 12:14) For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

I'm a Christian and if an Atheist wants to closely question Christianity, but not other religions, that is his or her right.
There was a time when we could not question abortion and fought to have our views heard. But we would be hypocritical if somehow we said that people could not question what we do and believe.

In Buddhist there is no God.The only religion that does not believe in anything. I think because christian like to go around converting people and people like to make fun of them. Two days ago ,i found a pamphlet under my door inviting me to the church.I got a friend daughter still schooling and collecting pocket money from her parents. On school holiday she do part-time job.And her mother,(testing her daughter,) ask her for some money, she replied saying she donate to the Church.(so unfilia daughter).

Christians are the only ones wildly fanatical enough to answer. Buddhists see the wisdom of not engaging in argument while the Muslims, like the Jewish, don't want people to "convert". They believe you're either a true believer or you're not, and coercing someone to "convert" isn't done.
It seems to be quite the contest between athiests wishing to prove their point and religious zealots trying to save everyone for the "good of his soul".
BTW, you will get a lot of mean answers, so bear with it.

I have noticed on this forum that attacking Christians is 100% allowed. Questioning Islam or the false prophet Muhammad will get you a violation notice. Why don't atheists subject Muslims to the same degradation? My guess, is that they are scared too.

Whoa there, I have always attacked all religions. I have actively insulted Islam, Buddism, and Judism. If the vast majority of our criticism is towards Christians, it is because we live in a majority Christian country, so that is who we interact with more and what we were raised in.
