Go to Start/Control Panel/Programs and features. High light the program that you want to remove and the click "Uninstall".

Even if you are the system administrator you have to deal with the UAC that Vista includes. Go to Step 4 of the site below and temporarily disable UAC then try to add/remove. You may want to re-enable UAC afterwards. It is a security feature of Vista and a good one at that, but can be a pain sometimes.

You need to go to Control Panel, Programs etc, then select which one you want to delete and click unistall. To add, you just follow the downloading instructions.

all programs--add/remove programs--click--remove
Vista:
start--default programs--programs and features--click--delete
both XP/Vista:
my computer/computer--local disk drive ( c )--windows--programs--right clivck program--select delete
both XP/Vista:
windows key + letter R--regedit--edit these 3 hkeys,right click program--select delete:
hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\program
hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\program
hkey_user\software\microsoft\program
XP:
MY DOWNLOADS FOLDER
start--my documents--my downloads folder
right click program and select delete
Vista:
start--documents--downloads folder
right click download program--select delete
