I have been trying to contact them forever and no response. I really need them for my next semester. Can I contact the IRS for a copy? Any helpful info thanks!!!

The office that prepared your return can supply a copy. If it was one of their temporary storefront operations you'll have to track down the regional office that services your area to get that copy. I would think that their website would be the best place to locate that information.

You can call the IRS and get an transcript of your return for free. It's not a copy but will list all lines from your return and the amounts that were on those lines. This takes about 10 days lead time by mail or about 1 hour if you have access to a fax machine.

If you need a copy of the return as filed, there is a $39.00 charge for that. It also takes about 6 weeks. Tax year 2006 copies may not be immediately available, however, so it may take considerably longer than the usual 6 weeks.

You can order a transcript or copy from the IRS by phone or by filing Form 4506 for the copy or Form 4506-T for the transcript by mail.
