I have not experienced the energy drinks that you mention. However, most of these energy drinks contain high levels of caffeine and sugar which can be bad for my body.

The one I drink is different because it does not contain all of the caffeine and sugar or other ingredients that could be bad. I drink one every day and it helps me with my energy level. It works in minutes, lasts for several hours as it is more of a nutritional supplement.

If you are concerned about your health, you may want to check it out. I got mine at www.carlshealthhelp.com/energy

Are you looking for caffeine stimulant energy (alertness) or energy as in fuel to go?

I'm going to dissent with the vast majority of answers here.

Coffee and tea will fall in almost the same category as mass marketed energy drinks. The only difference is coffee / tea does not contain sugar; you manually add them. If you are looking for something to wake you up, or make you a little more alert, then coffee or teas are good options. Also note that if you add liquid creamers to it, that is a form of fats.

If you are looking for energy as in fuel for the body, ie contain natural sugars and / or proteins. The best source of those will come from fruits and vegetables.

My preference for natural energy is fruit smoothies, containing at minimum banana, orange juice, soy milk / yogurt. Add additional fruits for various tastes.

As another option for energy drink: water, honey, lemon. Honey is made up of fructose and glucose.

None. They boost your energy at the time, but then you get really really tired later. A lot better just to drink water, or gatorade or powerade after you're done playing to replace the sugar and electrolytes you lost.

Any organic pressed fruit juice is good for you as it contains natural sugar and vitamins for energy and improved health. In moderation though as too much can be fattening.
Also tea as has been said already.

Virgin Coconut Oil or the classic Coconut Juice! The virgin coconut oil can help prevent and cure diseases, make skin smoother, and give energy. It's available in bottles in supermarkets and drug stores.

TIP! Mix Virgin Coconut Oil with Pineapple juice and some crushed ice. You got yourself a pineapple malibu without the alcohol. Very healthy too. :-)
