All of my cats have been inside cats. I had one who lived to be 22 years of age and I have another one who has just turned 18 and going strong. I think now the average age for an indoor cat is 18 - 20 years but of course there are exceptions. Looks to me like you are doing the right things and will have your kitty around for a long time yet. If you only have one, I would recommend getting another one. I did that when my cat was 15 because I was afraid she wasn't going to last long. The kitten I got brought back new life to her and that's the one who lived to be 22. Poor outdoor cats only live 3 - 5 years.

Indoor cats usually live longer than outdoor cats. My oldest cat lived to be 19 and my husband had a cat that lived to be 25. I have a 15 year old now and a 5 year old - all these cats were/are indoor. If you take good care of them, they should live long healthy lives - however, do remember that cats get diseases just like humans - not trying to scare you or anything - but I would say 13 is not too old for a cat. Take care and love those cats - aren't they wonderful companions.

Like people, cats' lifespans vary considerably. Some people are "old" in their 60's, and some are spry at 90. Some cats are "old" at 12 or 13, while others live well into their 20's. It all depends on diet, physical health, activity, and etc.
The AVERAGE life expectancy for an indoor cat is more than 15 years. You can probably expect at least a few more good years with your kitty.

Average life span is 12 years. I lost my kitty of nearly 19 years a few years ago, then lost two other elderly cats at roughly 18 years old (they were strays so their age is questionable). On the other hand, we lost a kitty to cancer and another to complete kidney failure. Both were just over 2 years old.
Currently, we have a new crop because of a stray mom cat. One of the kittens is quite sickly, but we hope that continual medical support, that we will get her past her immune system problem. If I wasn't living where I am now, I would have had to put her down because it's already been very expensive and the prognosis is still questionable.
Many people cannot afford the vet care I provided to these cats because they have to choose between caring for their children and supporting a sick pet. But I think you will likely have your pet for another 5 years. 18 is quite elderly for a cat.

You've obviously taken very good care of your cat:) If you continue to take good care of her and if she remains healthy she could live to be atleast 20. It is rare for a cat to live this long but it is possible. The average life span for a healthy indoor cat is around 15 years. Good luck

I've had cats live to age 21, 16, 13, and currently have 5 ranging in age from 6-10. As long as you take good care of your kitty, have checkups to head off medical problems before they become critical and keep her inside there's every expectation of her living several more years.
Good luck with your 'mature' kitty.

The worlds oldest cat died in 2001. He was 31. My neighbor had a cat that died recently and she was 23. Depends on how well you feed them and get them regular vet visits. I havent had any cats that long, all of mine right now are 6 and I have 5 of them.
I have included a link for you to see Spike.

This website has some good answers to questions. To summarize a cat may live from 8-16 years if well cared for:
