what type of scale should i buy to measue exact amounts of food like in ounces..etc

would a postal scale work?

Yes a postal scale will be fine. You don't need to be more accurate than that.

You can go to any store (Wal-Mart, Target, some grocery stores) and purchase a food scale. You just go to the kitchen appliance and cookware section of Wal-Mart and either look for it or ask a customer service rep. They will gladly point it out to you and it will drop your wallet anywhere from about $5 (for a regular one) to $20 (digital scale). I hope that answers your question well enough.
P.S. Please do not weight your food on a postal scale. Even the sound of that is unsanitary.
