awww the poor widdle puppy. My foxhound used to beat up on my mastiff when he was a puppy and I cleaned the wounds with 50/50 mix of hydrogen peroxide, then neosporin. Keep an eye on the boo boo, I am sure it will be fine.

I'm surprised momma drew blood. Usually they just hold them down by the neck until the puppy gets the idea that whatever he was doing isn't allowed.

She could have really hurt him if she wanted to. In the wild, that's how dogs learn hierarchy. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

As long as the bite is clear, and doesn't look red or infected, it should dry up and heal. Poor thing.

It could be mom's way of letting the puppy know what it was doing was not acceptable. Also as the puppy gets older, mom will be letting him know who is boss. Keep an eye on mom to be sure she wasn't actually trying to hurt the pup, which is very doubtful that she was.
Betadine should be fine to use, unless you see signs of infection.

If the wound is large he might need stitches. Betadine alone might not be enough to keep out infection in this case. Good luck with him.

Assuming this is a small nick that should be enough first aid. What he probably learned is not to do whatever pissed mom off in the first place.... Dogs then to not be gentle teaching the hellions manners.

It won't teach the puppy not to bite. How deep are the punctures? If very deep take her to the vet for sutures.

You need to take control of the dog and teach it not to bite.

how old is the pup? is she just putting him in his place or was she teaching her a lesson?

if it's an aggerssive angry bite then you need training issues - if she is just putting her in his place, let him be, he will learn..

watch them and don;t let the mum attack him any more....if she does why is she? look at the reason and what is triggering it off... get rid of that... if it's just 'playing' watch them so it doesn;t get out of hand
