Depends on the type. Some can be relieved or cured with certain salves or antibiotics from a physician. Others may have to be lanced or surgically removed by an eye doctor. If surgery is required it is usually just a visit to an eye doctor and out in an hour. Generally an inexpensive proceedure. It depends on whether it is a stye or a cyst on which methods must be used.

If it's right on the edge of your eyelid then it's probably a stye which is sort of like a pimple. Basically it's an oil gland that has become blocked. They're also sometimes caused by an infection of one of the glands at the bottom of your eyelashes. It's nothing serious and usually goes away by itself. There isn't a whole lot you can do other than wait it out and leave it a lone for a few days.
You could try putting a warm wash cloth on it for 10-15 minutes a few times a day. That usually helps bring the stye to a head so that you can pop it and get rid of it though, technically, you really shouldn't do this as it's best to leave it alone and let it go away by itself. That usually takes a week or so. Styes can be painful but it's generally a good idea to put a warm compress on it and leave it alone for a week or so rather than mess with it and get a serious infection.
Good luck!

That would be called a sty. It's an infection of a sebaceous gland on your eyelid. It should clear itself up in a day or so. Don't bother it too much to keep the swelling and irritation to a minimum. Just wash your face with cleanser and water as you would normally do.
