No. Basic (called boot camp in the US, I think) is not fat camp so lose the weight before joining. Life in either the US or Canadian military would not be enjoyable overweight as daily PT would make work hard either as a junior officer or NCM.

If you can loose the weight before you go to enlist yes if not no you have till age 42. Us army has a height and weight standard you must meet it. My bet is you will never make it through Boot. But i have been Wrong before give it a try.

Age is fine. Weight....need to be at 190lbs or less for US military.
