ABSOLUTELY NOT. First of all, you do not qualify for the gastric bypass surgery and would have great difficulty finding a surgeon to perform it. 60 kg's is approximately 132 pounds with your height of 5'7", your BMI is only 20.7 and is within normal range.
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
You should not only use diet, but also exercise. Joining a gym or excercise program would help when others are there to work with you. Also a trainer may be available for advise. The surgery would not eliminate your stretch marks and would subject you to a lifetime of very limited eating habits. Please try the other options, I have seen too many complications to take this risk unneccessarily. Good Luck.

There is no way what so ever that you will find someone to perform this surgery or lap band surgery on you. These surgeries are used to help OBESE people lose weight and to keep them healthy and by all means it not a cosmetic surgery. These surgeries are dangerous and the results of it after 50 years is still unknown. If you are unhappy with your body you need to contact and plastic surgeon and discuss a tummy tuck, liposuction, and possibly lazer surgery for the stretch marks. Could you possible be pregnant? If your finding it hard to control your diet that is a possibility or you could just meat with a nutritionist and find a diet plan that works for you and is easy to stick with. Gastric Bypass Surgery is not an easy out for losing weight when its a long and painful recovery if you survive the surgery and it is not something you can even think lightly about. You are almost selfish for even considering this option. Lazy too!

If you are only 22 and are an ideal weight, hit the gym. There are exercises than trim the hips, arms, thighs and buttocks. It takes a little work. Gastric bypass is not an easy fix. Most MDs would not to the surgery on someone at your weight anyway. Because of the small amount of food you would be able to eat after surgery, the baby's nutrition could be compromised. Low fat, walk, dance, ride your bike, and lift weights, that's the key to weight loss and muscle tone. You will probably gain weight during pregnancy but look at Angelina, Katherine Zeta-Jones, Brook Shields, they are all trim and fit. Surely you are as smart and motivated as they are.

No...No...No...No....While gastric bypass surgery can be a God-send to those who are significantly overweight, it is not without consequences. And at your weight, most reputable doctors would not do the surgery on you anyway. You have to pass a battery of psychological evaluations and based your statements above, I don't think you'd pass.
Gastric bypass should only be considered if you are at least twice your ideal body weight....not just for cosmetics. This is serious surgery with life-altering consequences. People who have this surgery often have to deal with....
- Stomach and intestinal cramping after eating/drinking even a little too much
- Bouts of diarrhea
- Difficulty tolerating any carbonated beverages
- Vomiting
- Not to mention the postoperative complications that can KILL you.
The surgery could affect your ability to have a healthy pregnancy, and yes, it is possible to gain weight again as your stomach stretches.

I have just recently started this diet, and you may have seen it recently in magazines. I have lost 12 pounds in the last 8 days! It is advertised as the Amazing New Celebrity Diet, and many of the members have lost huge amounts of weight very quickly. I thought it would be very difficult but it actually turned out to be pretty easy because they have all of the tools and recipes on the website.

It was recently featured in Woman's World Magazine as a better option to Gastric Bypass. I have posted some more information on my blog, you might want to check that out. There is a blog about the article in Woman's World, that is how I got started.

No legitimate doctor will give you gastric bypass.... you need to be morbidly obese (more like 160 kg) to even be considered for the surgery. Just go to the gym. Or if you are too lazy and have money to burn, maybe you could get liposuction. But if you aren't willing to just eat less or exercise, you are going to gain back any weight you lose eventually anyway.

You don't sound like someone who is at all a good candidate for gastric bypass. Gastric bypass is a very serious surgery that is for people who are morbidly obese. You don't sound like you're trying that hard at the dieting. I doubt any doctor anywhere would agree to perform gastric bypass on you, because you would be crazy to get it.

Weight loss surgery-like gastric bypass surgery have become very common and very safe now. My cousin got her Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery in India. She has lost more than 65 lbs in 5 months and is very happy with the results. The price for obesity surgery is very less in India. My cousin just paid 25% of the cost she was quoted in America. She got her surgery from a company called Forerunners Healthcare.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as bariatric surgery and weight loss surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your Obesity surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

If your weight is ideal for your height, how are you going to get gastric by-pass surgery??? Any surgeron worth anything wouldn't do this type of operation on someone that isn't considerably over their ideal weight. This isn't like going to Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers and losing a few pounds. This is major surgery and isn't for a "few" pounds that need to be shed.

You are not an ideal candidate for that type of surgery... Try good ol' diet/exercise and I don't think you can be on it if you are pregnant anyway, since you consume too little calories...
