I would say that you are. I'm 5'8" and 9 1/2 stones and I'm a healthy weight.
To the American that weighs in pounds, it IS the same system. Bless you there are 14 pounds to the stone, its the same as if you gave your height in feet and inches rather than just inches.
Thus 8stine 2 lb is 114 pounds.

At 8 st 2 lbs and 5'9 that gives you a BMI of 16.8, which is considered underweight. (A healthy BMI is 18.5-25). Because you lost so much weight in such a short time, you will probably gain most of it back. Being 9 st puts you in the healthy weight range (barely, with a BMI of 18.6), so just try to eat healthfully and you should be fine in a week.

I'm not real sure about the English stones-thing, but I'm American, 5'9", and I weighted 119 lbs at 21 years of age. I was considered "skinny" then, and "in shape" now! If you're worried about being too thin- try eating more for a while ;-)

um...ACTUALLY this is the UK board.
your bmi is 16.8, which is underweight. however, you say that you lost this weight through an illness which means you'll put the weight back on in a flash. Dont worry. At your weight of 9 stone you are the PERFECT weight (lower end of the "ideal" weight range)
dont worry bbz you'll soon get back to your old weight, just shove those donuts in! hope you get better soon!

Yes, your BMI is 16.8. Anything under 18.5 is considered underweight.
I wouldn't be too worried. Just try to eat well-rounded meals and get your energy back up. I'm sure you're still recovering from the tonsillitis as well.

Actually "Gems" it doesn't say UK , maybe only yours, personally I've never heard weight measured in "stones' so I couldn't possibly answer the question. Im also about 5'8 and a half or 5'9 so if the question was asked in American lbs maybe I could help. I think Yahoo Answers comes up the way you sign in. I'm in the US, so there's nothing about the UK on my Answers pages..
Good luck to you on your goals sweetie..:o)

The weightless will just be a side effect of being ill so I wouldn't start worrying yet. Once you start eating normally, you should go back to you previous 9st - unless of course you don't want to!
