I have Herpes, and I am getting back with my X, how or should I tell him what I have?

He is the love of my life, i been waiting for this day for years, he says he loves me and that we are going to try again, get engage and marry me. i luv him to death,. if he ever gets STD's he would get fire of his job (just for the type of job that he does)., what am i going to do? i dont wanna loose him, but yet; i dont know how to explain him what i have. i am so scare of loosing him, so scare of what he is going to think of me, and if he leaves me? i dont want him to loose his job. he will be here next month, and first time in 2 years that we see each other again, and this time should be for-good. how or when should i tell him? or should i keep it a secret? since i am on medication he wont get it ( i guess, and hope) i dont know what to do please, please help me :(

well you should definetly tell him. Also just explain to him how you guys can be safe. Explain that its only contagious when there near or during a breakout. Just talk to him about it, If he cares then he won't flip out about it. There are thousands of couple that deal with it, its not immpossible.

Unless he's a gigolo, I don't see how he could lose his job because of a STD. You need to tell him up front. If you have sex with him and then say, "oh by the way, while we were apart, I was a bit of a skank and got herpes" you're asking for a hell of a lot of trouble! You can't keep it secret if you want to maintain a lasting relationship and there's no medication that will prevent transmission to him. So, be an adult, not a petulant child.

You should tell him, just try to make it sound like it isn't the end of the world and remember how common it is (one in four women has it)

He won't get fired from his job, there is no job where they can fire you for having herpes, it would be illegal. It is not his employers business. Does that mean they would fire someone with oral herpes too?

But you have to tell him, if he really cares for you it shouldn't be a big deal.

You should play it out... see if things are going to work out for you. Then you should definitely tell him. He deserves to know. Even if he wouldn't lose his job from having it, you should still tell him. There is medicine you can take so you don't pass it to him. Also, STDs aren't the end of life. If he loves you, he'll do everything possible to be with you. Just calm down and let things play out. Just make sure you tell him.

70 percent of people get Herpes from someone that isn't having an out break and is on medication. You can still give it to him. Is there a chance he gave it to you two years ago? Either way, If this question is for real, you gotta tell him before he comes. (no pun intended)
