Personally i am glad smoking is being banned in public, but i feel for the smokers due to they have rights too. There is a very fine line for this subject and as you say it is political correctness gone wrong, what will they think of next.
As for contracting HIV from kissing (saliva) No you cant, but i must say look carefully around the mouth for cuts, bleeding spots and so on as this is more likely to carry the HIV virus.
Ladies with HIV have been known to give birth to babies who are negative for the HIV virus how i am not sure.
So think before you kiss hahahahaha, but would you kiss a spotty bleeding person anyway???

The smoking ban is not before time. Kissing should be banned when a person has an infectious disease like tuberculosis,as it could be the kiss of death.I don`t want to be to gloomy,I recommend kissing when two people agree.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

HIV will spread when u have canker or cut in your mouth, not only by saliva.

Cigarette is like cocain. But the difference is the former one is chronic, while the later is speedy. My father had heart and lung problem for the big consumption of cigarette when he was young. It does cause organ problem for the people who smoke and the people around them.

Unless you have a cut in your mouth, HIV cannot be spread through kissing.

Kissing should be forbidden altogether, except in the case of two parties who are over the age 16 and sound of mind, and have no malice aforethought, no infectious diseases etc

No, not if you only kiss the girl you married. Takes the excitement out of kissing, I hear you say. Better to be safe than sorry.

I don't think it should be banned but in public people don't need to make out in such a way that others stare and say get a room.

No- if you choose to kiss someone thats just between two people. Smoking affects everyone. AND HIV is not transmitted by saliva- so a double no......

Yeah! Lets make everything illegal on the grounds that everything probably offends someone somewhere, then the whole country can just be one big open prison and we can start all over again!
