It seems like it wouldn't be right to celebrate the resurrection of Christ with sex worshppers traditions. Like the Easter bunny and the colored eggs. Or the sun worship of the Evergeen tree and a pack of lies with the suposed birth of Christ Jesus.
I mean he really wasn't born then. Does this seem okay?

What is important is the way Jehovah views things, not us. In the past, He never has put up with two-faced worship or divided loyalties. Either worship Him exclusively or don't worship Him at all has always been His view.

Saying we would "confuse our children" is bull. What about lying to kids? "Oh yes. There is a Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Tooth fairy...etc." If you lie about this, what else have parents lied about? Be honest and set an example!

Well, this presents a quandary because, although there are some; I don't know of many churches who decline to permit Easter egg hunting for the children in their congregations -- no doubtedly Ishtar would be proud.

That which became "Easter" through secular tradition was the holiday Passover; Christ being the Lamb of God.

Your supposition regarding the birth of Christ is likewise correct from a standpoint of time line. According to the original translations, the conception of Christ occurred on December 25th and his subsequent birth was actually around November 29th.

So Thanksgiving and celebration of 'the harvest' takes on a whole new meaning.

The evergreen tree holiday tradition has an origin parallel to the sun worshipers whereby it was decorated with "Chrismons" which are graphic signs representing the name of Christ -- and was known as a 'Chrismon Tree'.

The problem with combining sacred with secular traditions in a religious context is that all too often the sacraments and theology becomes obscured by the traditions of men.

Therefore, I say no.

I disagree with the true religion and false religion. All paths lead to Deity and is a matter of personal choice and direction. However the answer is that modern Christianity is a mixture of bible and pagan practices and beliefs.

Whether one likes or dislikes it Easter, Christmas and other holidays are pagan the historical facts are easy to find. The modern praise and worship churches are getting into today would have been condemned as heresy in the early first and second century churches. Musical instruments were not used in early Christianity for many reasons, but one reason stated by early church writers was it was adding a pagan practice to Christian worship.

Modern Christianity is very much a mixture of Christan and pagan practices. I would not use the term true religion and false religion though. To the Christian their way is true so therefore is true for them but to pagans the pagan way is true for them and so on and so forth.

Each person must decide to their own benefit if mixing practices is okay and most Christians see nothing wrong with Christmas, Easter, musical instruments and so on.

It's symbolism. I grew up with NEVER having a Christmas tree or Santa Clause, because my parents believed what you are saying.

However, these things we do are a part of society and cultural norms. They don't hold the meaning that you are putting to them in everyday life. We have severed the truth from the deeds.

Another thing to consider, when a person doesn't allow their kids to partake in cultural social normalcy it is confusing to the child. A child doesn't understand at the age of 5 why Santa Clause didn't bring them any presents. The social norm is that you don't get presents from Santa if you were bad. That's not good either.

I learned to lie about it at a young age, because I was ostracized by my peers.

Not it would not be right. Even celebrating the resurrection has not meaning, but becoming like Jesus. That is the one most people seems to hate doing.

If I have been the devil, and my objective grew to become into to reason mischief among humanity, then i could create faith and sit down returned to observe. regrettably, time after time, faith has been abused. remember, maximum Kings or Rulers made faith an section of the Monarchy/Tyranny. A church priest or chief in lots of circumstances had extra power than the Monarch. At one factor, the Pope ought to announce to all catholics that it grew to become into time to loose yourselves out of your rulers, and people who die interior the attempt would be standard into the dominion of God. and we could have considered WWI. of direction, the church would not have extremely as plenty power now. All wars are fought for a million reason. power. He who has the money, has the ability. humorous what share companies have been in contact in investment wars interior the final a hundred years. The Israelites were warned about mixing the truth with the false and told that God would abandon them if they did that.
He likened it to spiritual adultry.
Making even the true religion invalid.

i think its not a big deal. Easter eggs and candy are for kids to play and have fun, Christmas trees are for decorating w/ the family. Do u think God really sits up their and frowns when the kids are sitting around the tree singing carols? I dont.

I dont know but rememeber the 10 commandments,
Thou shalt not put any other God's before me..
We're not suppose to worship any kind's of idol's...(Things)..
Lusting after someone else's husband or wife, or thier things, is coveting, in which the bible has alot to say about that... If thine eye causes you to Lust after another woman other than your wife, (or even if your not married) committing lust after anyone the bible says to "Pluck your eye out rather than burn in Hell for all eternity" which means, quit sinning!! Quit lusting.. Okay so the easter bunny, and santa for that matter do take away from Jesus' birth and death, but it doesn't mean we're suppose to partake in any of that and you cant justify one sin for another... the bible says God will make a way out from temptation, and your answer lies among some of us not to procede with those sin's your contemplating to do... None of us know when Jesus really was resurrected, or when He really was born, but its an honor to celebrate HIm after all He went through for us, and the bible does say different things about the Three Wise Men bringing gifts to baby Jesus, and the tree represent's His blood He shed for us on the wooden cross, then the candy canes, represent the staff He carried around with him, and the stripes on the candy cane represent his body and the blood he shed for us... the gifts underneath the tree, represent us celebrating sharing Love among eachother in Honor of His birth underneath the tree He died on for us!! He wants us to remember Him... As far as santa goes, his name spelt backwards in SATAN!!! So, to me santa takes away all of the whole meaning behind Christmas, and this is Jesus not santa......Just like the Easter Bunny takes away the whole meaning behind Jesus' death.. And makes it a whole funny thing when we are suppose to celebrate His resurection, rising from the dead.... But not with an Easter Bunny and eggs!!! Where did that originate from anyway?!! Who thought that one up? I admit, I have always done this for my children growing up, but its been an American tradition for so many years, and we do want our children to have fun, right!!! But, I have also taught my kids at very young ages what Easter really does represent.. Jesus dieing on the cross for all of us, so that we can confess our sins and turn from them and be forgiven through the blood He shed on the cross and rose from the dead on that day!!! So when He was born or died, doesn't really matter, it's remembering Him that matters, so we continue to be reminded of Him every year through these Holidays, you know... To keep us continuely remembering all about God sending His own son as a sin sacrafice for all of our sins!!! Good Question!! Smile!!!
