He is jelous. He doesnt want to go but he doesnt want you meeting other guys. Dont stop doing what you love, for him.

Do you give him a reason to be jealous? Do you talk about your instructor or a guy there a lot, that might make him think more is going on than dancing?
Try to be understanding, and not defensive. The minute you get defensive, he's going to latch onto it and think "oh no, she's defensive about it, there IS something to worry about" and it'll get worse. Talk to him about it, and listen to him - try to understand his feelings, and if they really are unfounded, tell him so in a nice way. (Example: "I don't like you going because I know how much you like it and I'm afraid you'll meet a guy who you like better because he goes when I can't." Response: "I love you, and I like coming home to you to show you what I learned. I'm not interested in any of those guys." maybe suggest showing him what you learned in a provacative way, depending on how old you are :P) However, if he says that and you can't honestly say you're not interested in any of those guys...you might want to rethink the relationship.

if he trusts you and you're just going for the sake of ballroom dancing, i don't see why he should have a problem with it, try talking to him about it

Look, "u should not go, coz he said no", just ask him the reason" why he is against Ur wish", if the jealousy is the reason, try to pick an other time and go with him , if he has an other opinion is that these places re not good . so, it s up to you . i think it s not enough reason to split. unless you fed up of him , so kick him out of Ur life .

Maybe you should... he seems to be insecure and distrustful of you. Is that the kind of partner you seriously want in your life? Is he or does he try to be controlling of you? If so, this guy is a disaster waiting to happen in your life.

he probaly doesnt know how to....

thats why i wouldnt go.

sign u and him up for lessons, and take them together.

show him that it can be fun, and that he can do it.

u can probaly take lessons at the YMCA for pretty cheap.

and then go out together and grab something to eat after dancing....

...he's insecure... BUT...if you are going out dancing to get a little "tingle" in your panty-hose, well (think twice and act once)
