Isn't it an honor to be near God and humbling at the same time?

When Christians believe they are "worthless servants," as Jesus instructed them to believe Lk17:10, does this mean that God denigrates the human race? Is this not a righteous attitude (wedding garments Mt22:11-12) that Christians put on gladly in respect to the Great I AM? Christians willingly, readily accept that they are much less than God especially as they grow closer and closer to Him. Many Christians experience the awesome presence of God in communion and are humbled by it.

Christians are in the presence of God at Church which is an honor. Christians know that God is present and allowing them to be very near Him and in communion with Him. When Christians approach God, they are humbled by His presence and honored by Him that He allows them to be His servants.

Christians choose to be God's humble servants and are honored to do so.

This is my opinion, what's yours?

Yours in Christ Jesus, Grace

In Luke 17:10, the term is unworthy.. not worthless. The sin in our lives... past, present, and future... makes us unworthy of the honor He has bestowed on us. It does not denigrate us to being worthless. We each are of great importance to Him, because He loves us just as we are. We are His beloved creations, adopted as His children, privileged to be with Him every moment of every day. It is more of the attitude of "Who am I" that such a great and wonderful God should take notice of us, knowing us even better than we know ourselves. We have a servants heart because we want to do the things that are pleasing to Him, because of our love for our living God, and for what He has done and continues to do in our lives.

I think pretty much every religion feels the same way about the Creator of the universe-- that they are honored and humbled and are in the presence and favored by their God/dess.

Just about every believing person of any faith I have known, from Christian to Jew to Wiccan to Hindu, believe they have experienced the "awesome presence" of God/dess.

This is not really a unique feeling/belief of Christians.

I don't know a lot of others that make people feel worthless, though. Maybe that is unique to Christians, I don't know.

Apparently both at once.

We're all "miserable unworthy sinners," corrupt from birth, lower than the dirt of which we were made.

Yet if we accept Jesus, we're "saved," redeemed, atoned-for; we're members of "The Elect," even though we're still unworthy - but isn't it that much more amazing that we're saved, considering how low we are?

What a load. I pity anybody who accepts this glorified inferiority complex as "truth."
