Hi...I just bought a Havanese puppy and this is her second day with me. She loves to go in her crate but she does not want to come out. She hides in the back and sometimes makes little cries. Although she is constantly wagging her tail and she is so excited to come out but she just won't come. She'll get 1/2 way out and then go back. I've bribed her with treats, no use. Also...I have been leaving the door open and she just pokes her head out. Has this happened to anyone, if so any advice? Thanks!

she feels safe. this is her "den"...give her time, she will come out. good for you for crate training...thats the best way to train her!!

She's just not sure of her surroundings yet. As most dogs do, shes treating the crate as a den and feels safe. Totally normal. Give her some time she will adjust.

She is just having a hard time adjusting to this way of life. Take her for a walk every day, even if it is inside. Just get her out of the crate!

don't entice her. call her from the next room, when she comes out, praise her and give her treats - she will also get to know her name at the same time. Put her in her crate at night if that is where you want her to sleep, then again call her from the next room, when she is out, treat her..... it wont take long to learn.

This perhaps the best thing you could hope for...the pup is looking for your guidance....I suspect this litter was watched over by a protective female who did not allow movement from the whelping area....I'd be reaching in for her and not asking her to come just yet...enjoy it while it lasts.....good luck
