Hi, I know how you feel! These are the things I have tried that worked for me - they may or may not appeal to you, but I hope you find something -
1. Change your thoughts - start thinking about being thin - you are getting thinner etc - (look up 'The secret' what we think becomes our reality) Don't become obsessed with fat people - start by letting your eyes wander to thin people. This will help your attitude about yourself to change. This is probably the most important thing you can do.
2.Throw out all your oil and fat - buy in coconut oil - (look that up too). Its expensive, but if you read the research it does not 'stay' in your body, you can still enjoy fried food! (because it's expensive you won't use too much - some brands have a slight coconutty taste - I use Omega Nutrition Organic Coconut Oil - it has no taste.
3.Get rid of marg and spreads and buy in butter. There is something so good in butter - an elixir- so enjoy it, but not too much!
4.Eat fresh veg/fruit every day.
5. I take chinese medicine - 'Acupuncture and Herbs' Herbal slimming tablets (Mei Ti) - that are also expensive - but effective - they increase the metabolism and promotes the breaking up of fat - all natural herbs.
6.There are 5 exercises - (I know harder ones if you want to progress) - simple to remember and to do at your own pace. Start with these- just to get your body energy to start moving again. They are based on ancient chinese exercises. try each one in the morning for 1 minute each and increase the time as you get used to them.
The deer - lift hands above your head and stretch, find different ways of stretching upwards. (exercises the liver).
The bird - spread arms to the side and make flying movements, up and down, relaxing elbows wrists and fingers, bending knees. (exercises the heart)
The monkey - pat, pummel, rub, stroke body, particularly stomach area, but legs, arms and head too. Any form of touching. (promotes energy to stomach/spleen)
The tiger - push both arms forward breathing out. (exercises the lungs)
The bear - bend from the pelvis down to the ground and walk around - relax like a rag doll. (exercises the kidneys).
Ask me if you need more detail - these exercise should help to stimulate your metabolism, and after a week or so you would feel more energised after them, not worn out.
I try to eat fish every other day - just steamed (3 mins in microwave) with veg and boiled potatoes.
Pork, Chicken/Turkey, Eggs, pale hard cheese like cheshire once a week, with rice, noodles/pasta or potatoes. A little butter added to veg after cooking.
I never used to have breakfast, but now I do - I have a liquidiser (magic bullet) and mix fresh or frozen food with rice milk for a smoothie - it's quick and yummie in the morning. Sometimes I'll have a banana butty, sometimes (rarely) egg and bacon with vey little coconut oil to fry.
lunch - just a snack and drink plenty of liquids-
Good luck!

Seems to mne you are getting the motivation by addressing your problem.
Avoid (or reduce) fatty foods and sugar. Watch for sugar in your drinks too. Avoid white flour products (pastry, white bread, etc.) Avoid white rice and reduce or avoid alcohol.
Now, the rest you can eat and drink. Specialy veggies, lean meats, poultry, fish, fruit, whole flour products...
Try having some healthy snack while at work so you do not get home so hungry and eat so much after work.
Do some walking, as much as you can. At a good speed (speed walking or power walking) you can burn as many calories as with a light jog. Get off the bus or train sooner and walk fast the rest of the way, use stairs, etc. Whatever gets your heart moving for 20 to 30 minutes at least every other day. You can work out to be able to do it 5 times a week.
If posible, twice a week do some 15 minute toning exercises: whatever you can do from light weights to body weight exercises or resistance bands. Crunches, leg lifts, some squats, and push ups ( on you knees if neccesary), etc.
Work you abs, back, and arms.
Muscles are the body fat burners, so toning them will get them to work, no need to bulk up or kill yourself at the gym, just 15 to 20 minutes at least twice a week will do a lot for you.
Surely you can find the 30 minutes during the week.
Finally, picture yourself as you are and getting worse with time.
Now picture yourself loosing some weight and feelling more energetic and active, healthier. You can be like this by following a sensible diet and simple exercise plan as described.
This will help you get motivated.
Do not get on the scale to often, a little at a time is better.
You will see results soon.
Do not get down honey, you can change your habits and it is not that hard.
Luck to you.

Your habits sound pretty typical: you don't eat much during the day and by the time you get home at night you are too hungry to care what you eat (or how much). I would recommend starting slow. Focus on one thing at a time so that you don't get overwhelmed. I think a good place to start is to eat breakfast every morning. A mug of skim milk and a peice of fruit are great on-the-go options. When eating breakfast becomes easy, make another healthy change.
Because this post would be too long if I talked about healthy foods and exercise possibilities, heres a great website for that kind of information:

Good luck!

As for eating a ton after work, the only way I can stop myself from eating ridiculously is to plan out what I am going to eat for the day the night before. The night before you should decide on a breakfast, make a lunch, and take some chicken breast out of the freezer and plan to have it with some whole wheat pasta and a serving of veggies when you get home from work. By planning out your food, and even planning for some (but not as much) junk food, you can avoid overeating. Aim for about 1400 calories a day to start and you could gradually get down to 1200 if you don't see results.
As far as exercising, there are so many reasons to do it! You will have more energy at work, you will feel less lazy, and you won't be so starved for energy when you get home from work. Try finding a friend to walk with to start off, or find some sort of workout video that you like (I really like Denise Austins Pliates video, its easy and makes you feel great).
GOOD LUCK

As I see it you want to lose about two and a half stone, to get down to where you were. First about an hour and a half, before you go home from work, try having a small snack. This will reduce your appetite, and eliminate the craving for food when you get home. When you get home, try having some fruit juice, if you are hungry. As to exercise, try walking a short distance each day, and slowly increase it. Don't start off trying to run a mile, it will prove to be disheartening. Walk the length of a block, of houses, and say "hello" to your neighbors. Give that a few days, and then walk an additional block. Increase this until you can walk around the block, and just keep increasing it. As the weight comes off, you'll start feeling better about yourself. Just remember to start slowly, and increase gradually.

The first thing to remember is that you aren't alone, and there are lots of people out there in the same situation as you. We live a very leisure oriented society today, but with the stresses and strains of work we don't have the energy or desire to add to the days hassle by going out to exercise.
Health wise its necessary for people to try and do something though. May I suggest that instead of joining an evening gym that you might not use, try a 30 min walk at lunchime. Even if you only managed a mile, this would be 5 miles over a week.
Buy in lots of fruit, so after a good healthy evening meal, you can munch on apples, grapes, pears etc. Try not to comfort eat on crisps and biccies in front of the tv.....I know its tough cos I've done it myself. I always found that raisins helped, and stopped my craving other things.
Good luck

Firstly, I know just how you feel. But you can do something about it. I am 5ft 4 and used to weigh 13 stone. But 5 months ago I joined Weight Watchers and I now weigh 9 stone. I followed their core diet which consists of lean meats, fish, vegetables, fruit, wholemeal rice, pasta and cereals and low fat dairy products. I also joined a gym which I attend 4 times a week. You could walk more and also swim. It seems a lot to do, but really it is worth it. I feel so much better. More healthy and much more confident. Your healthy weight range for your height is between 8st 2lbs minimum and maximum 9st 11lbs. You really haven't got that much weight to lose. Give it a go. If I did it I am sure you can. Good luck.

you need to eat about 1500 calories a day.
Eat healthily with loads of fruit and veg. If you come in hungry from work just eat fruit and veg, or drink a glass of water as sometimes we mistake being thirsty for being hungry.
As for exercise the best thing to do is hit the gym atleast 4 times a week, for motivation you could get a friend to lose weight with you and go to the gym or you could take an MP3 with your favourite music on to keep you going.
