im just a normal wife and mother who can not afford to live in england any more. why do we have the highest tax rate? why are our property market going through the roof!! my father has been a hard working man for 34 years and is now selling our family home after 50 yrs of being in the village he grew up and loves, due to the high interest rates, the mortgage and the fact he still gets a poor wage for the work he does!! now hes moving to france for a cheeper home and living costs?
why should we be forced to leave the country we were born in?? i find it very hard to understand why our country doesnt help the people who want to stay but have no choice but to leave!? this country is getting to full to bursting point and its the skint ones who will suffer.
we will never be able to have our own home. and feel more and more rejected by our beloved nation!!!
should we just give up and go or fight and struggle to stay?
please no critisim or nastiness, its a sunday :)

I feel you pain and understand your anguish, It is a tragedy
which will be repeated countless times. It seems, the Government is more interested in giving Social Services to
the Immigrants that descend on your Country. At the expense of its own citizens.

The answer is in second paragraph.
"this country is getting to full to bursting point and its the skint ones who will suffer."
Whenever your population gets too big people will displaced. Only so many people can fit on that Island. In a capitalist society it is the ones who don't make enough to keep up with the inflation.
Unfortunately helping the working poor would require even higher taxes.
I say quit supporting the Royals that might free up some money.
In order to stay you'll need more income. So the question should be can your father and the family make more money some how?

Yours is a terrible situation, and one shared by thousands of other families. The fault lies entirely and solely at the feet of this government, which has allowed hundreds of thousands of low life from other countries to flood in, taking away our houses, jobs and living on handouts paid for by us.
It will only end when we sort this problem out b y stopping any more foreigners from coming here and sending back all those who have come here illegally.
I think you and so many others have been so let down by this once great nation of ours that you should have no qualms about leaving for a better life elsewhere.
If you have children then your first question should be: What is best for them? The answer will surely lie abroad, where they will receive a good education, live in a clean and safe environment, and with good career prospects.
I feel so sorry for people in your situation. Make a new life in a foreign country if you can, but don't force anyone to go against their will. Good Luck.

1. The UK is a high cost/low wage economy
2. We have the most unequal income distribution of any developed nation apart from the USA
3. Successive governments have allowed house prices to rise to ludicrous levels. The BBC recently reported that £2 BILLION was being given in interest tax relief to buy to let landlords.
Hum, I don't see the Tories, Labour or Lib Dems changing any of these things unless we demand it!
Don't be fooled by the racists.

I gave up and moved to another country. I won't say that my life now is that much easier though. The taxes are lower but the health insurance has caused me a fair bit of grief. Whatever country you go to seems to try to milk you for all the money it can and I am in more debt than I can pay these days. Don't think that it's only England. Every country will shaft you.

The reason is that there are lots of people who can afford things. Tens of thousands of people earn many thousands of pounds a year and can afford to buy or rent properties. This demand from these people is not being met by enough properties being built so the laws of supply and demand come into play and prices increase. This means that if you are not among the better paid people previously mentioned you will have difficulties in buying a property. The number of immigrants certainly add pressure on yhe low cost rental market, but I don't think that many are in the property buying bracket. Surely you should be in a better financial position than these immigrants.t

I think that emigration will become more and more common. Especially in light of the current rise after rise in inflation and base rate. I'd love to move abroad but i think that i would miss friends and family too much. I think the government as usual puts the needs of others above the needs of the country's citizens.

This country is definitely out pricing the average person who works and have a mortgage to pay. I don't mean to cause offence to anyone but the only people who will be able to afford to live here soon is Dhss claimants who gets housing and council tax paid for and are left with plenty of money every week to live on. This isn't how a country should be :)

Public Libraries suck anyways, you have old books with insects eating the paper. There is a cool private library in Boston that you need to pay a membership for, and they have the newest books, no waiting for books, newspapers from around the world, the newest book on tape, tons of computers with internet, cds. Take away taxes and everyone could afford it. Hell we pay more for our public libraries anyways. Public schools are a total failure. I know since I spent 13 years in them, plus 2 years in community college and 2 in a public university. again you remove the taxes and its cheaper to just go to private school. My nephew cost the city 17 thousand a year to go to public school while my ex girlfriends brother pays 7 thousand to go to a private school. And his school bullying isnt tolerated, you get expelled. Social secuity and medicare is a ponzi scheme and has failed already anyways, why do you think we are getting stuck with national healthcare now? Ponzi schemes are doomed to fail. Libertarianism isnt for abolishing the military, it is one of the few things Libertarianism for keeping within government. healthcare would be cheaper anyways with government staying out of it. Government interferes with insurance companies, treatments, so prices skyrocket. Plus illegal aliens flooding the hospitals so the public gets stuck paying the bill. Actually private companies take the animal corpses and convert them into byproducts, so thats not an issue. Roads will just be privatized and tolls will be put up to fund them. Why should a guy who dousnt drive have to pay for the roads that he dousnt use? government already uses tolls anyways. Public Defenders will still exist since it is in the constitution. FDA is a joke anyways, how come we still have hydroganted fats, corn syrup, trans fats, etc in our foods? Why do they ban good drugs but legalize dangerous drugs? it is a scam Drinking water isnt healthy anyways in the majority of places. They just reported on the news 2 weeks ago that there were deadly chemicals found in our drinking water. NWS is a safety issue so it likely will stay, or news networks will take it up since they do it anyways already. Tolls will pay for repairs actually. The government isnt doing a good job since I keep hitting potholes up here in Mass.

i believe the price is to high to pay in the country we live in.....i was born and have lived in the same area of england all my life and seen the cost of everything rise yet wages and worth stand still or fall.
i am only 18 but there is no hope for people my age to climb the property ladder when it is too slippery to even touch.
i denounce england as my country from this moment.....i have no homeland.....and i am leaving as soon as i get my chance....and the only thing i will miss....is my family!
