Yep, I have. Pretty fun. And you do throw it more like a baseball rather than a shot put. Goal is to get it further away from you.
P.S. I was AF Security Forces and we do train on grenades.

I have and its fun. I have also fired a MK-19 (belt fed 40mm grenade machine gun, a AT-4 which is like a RPG and thrown a few in combat as well as training back in the day. Just dont hol dit to long the cook off time can be some what unpredictable.

Anyone who has gone thru Army or Marine basic training has thrown a hand grenade, not sure about AF or Navy.
No, I never known anyone stupid enough to have been brainwashed into killing themselves.
I guess they do it because they are uneducated morons.

It feels like throwing a heavy baseball except for the sense of urgency you have, knowing that particular thing will blow your guts out if you don't get rid of it.
