I just started taking it with no side effects. I'm guessing you read about the side effects of crapping yourself? Lol. Lots of people are probably going to be stupid about the pill and think it's supposed to be a miracle worker. That they can eat and eat and alli is going to help them lose weight. It just doesn't work that way. So you're probably going to get some people answering this that took it without reading and crapped themselves, and is going to tell you not to take the pill.

If it tells you all this about the pill, and you're STILL eating crap you're obviously not supposed to be eating, then maybe you deserve to **** yourself in public for not following the directions on the drugs you're taking.

For anyone thinking about it, don't just go out and buy the bottle. Buy the starter kit! It is great. Flatout. Tells you what your BMI is, and how many calories and fat grams you can have per day.

For example, I normally eat probably anywhere from 2000cal+ per day. If I didn't read about alli, I probably would crap myself like an idiot. BUT. I read up on it first, and found out I need to eat about 1200cals and can only have 39g of fat per day, only 12g per meal.

It tells you have you don't eat so much fat, you won't have the side effects.

So basically all it takes is the ability to read and some common sense, and POOF. No droopy poopy. :)

If you're not dedicated to loosing weight, then don't buy alli. That simple.

All in all though, if you think you can dedicate to a diet, then the alli pill is meant to help you with your diet. It isn't a diet in itself. Do not take it if you're going to eat at places like mcdonalds and whatnot.

And again...Do the starter kit. It has little booklets that can be really helpful. The part I liked the best about it was the fact that it had menu's for places like mcdonalds, arbys, wendys, white castles, sub way, and more, and it has a green dot next to the food that would be okay for you to have while dieting. Very helpful since I can't cook for myself since I'm always at work.

Never try diet pill, they are not good ways to lose weight.
The best way is the most natural way is eating good food with less fat, doing more exercise to burn the redudant fat.

Instead of taking pill, why dont you drink green tea and eat more fiber?

Green Tea boosts metabolism and may aid in weight loss. It also contains anti-cancer properties and help prevent heart disease.

Fiber is very good for a healthy cardiovascular system. It helps to maintain healthy cholesterol levels. Since fiber slows down the conversion of carbohydrate into sugar, it promotes a stable blood sugar in the body. This helps us feel full for longer periods and thus becomes helpful in reducing weight.

Have a good day!!

I started taking it a week ago. I was familiar with Orlistat from its testing days.

I have not had any problems, but if you overeat fat, I hear there are significant effects from passing the excess fat. I am down 2.5#, and normally it would take 3wks-1month to lose that for me.

It is true that we would all be better to manage our weight through diet and exercise, but that being said, many of us have struggled our entire lives with weight management. I have better eating habits than many of my "normal weight" friends, and certainly exercise more. I was excited to try Alli because I hope it will give me an extra edge to lose weight.

There is a busy discussion group on myalli.com , lots of posts from recent users.

A friend used the original prescription strength; Xenical. After 3 months I didn't notice any change. But perhaps it simply helped him maintain his weight.

A friend of mine is taking it - her comment is just make sure you do not eat anything with too much fat content -- if so -- be prepared to hit the restroom fast .
