There are many sincere, honest people that happen to be Catholic.
However, the religious organization itself has taught lies ....knowingly.
They have mistreated their 'flock'.
They have participated in some of the more shameful events of history.
It is an organization to shun.

How do you think you got to the place where you can relate to God on your own? It was becausae you were brought up in a Catholic home.
Now that you are on your own, you feel that you do not have to grow in your relationship with God? You say to yourself "The relationship I have with God right now is good enough. I do not need to get closer to God."
I hope that you are very advanced in age so you will not have any trials and tribulations left in life that you will need to go to God about. You may not find Him when you need Him.

I believe in the original Christian teachings that Jesus taught, not the Catholic Church. Relating to God in your own way is great since you have a relationship with God. However, until you have God's level of knowledge about the hereafter, and all knowing ability to read you, it is best to leave some decisions up to God. If you really want to know the truth, you will research the history, and arguments in religion, thoroughly. Then you will at least know you put forward your best efforts when you face Justice.

You should relate to God in God's Way, not your own way.
I'm always fascinated by people who think they've discovered a better way of worship.
I am assuming you believe God created the universe, and everything in it including you and me. With that in mind, why is it you question the Way in which God wants us to worship Him?
God's Way is the best way for us.
If your way is telling you that you do not need spiritual sustenance in Holy Communion; if your way is telling you that you do not need spiritual sustenance in Confession - then it is quite clear you are not relating to God.
I don't know what or who you are relating to, but it's not God.

Go beyond mere"have to"s and discover the spiritual ritches in Catholic worship and spirituality.

the catholic church is the fullness of truth. the holy spirit cannot teach error, protestant churches have splintered 20000+ times, if the spirit cannot teach error then what gives? jesus promised the church he established the guidance and protection of the holy spirit untill he returns. that church we clearly see from scripture, the writings of the early church fathers is the roman catholic church. your parents were catholic for a reason, that reason is jesus christ. here are some sites you may find usefull, may i add once you know the truth of the catholic faith you won't feel like that anymore, i mean no offence to my seperated brothers and sisters in christ who i acknowledge earnestly seek our savior jesus.

You don't have to "believe" in the catholic church. If you BELIEVE in Jesus Christ, and accept Him as your personal Savior, then, you will be saved. It doesn't matter what church you go to. You don't have to go to church, but, really it is a good thing to go to a good Bible believing church, because then you stay in God's word, and the Bible tells us we need to be together with other believers. My personal opinion is that the catholic church is more about religious rituals than anything else. Jesus isn't about religion. It is about a RELATIONSHIP with Him. You don't have to confess your sins to any man, or go through any man to get to God. That's why Jesus died for us. He took away the barrier between us and God. JESUS IS OUR HIGH PRIEST. There is no other. Pray to the Father, in Jesus' name. He hears your prayers, but ONLY THROUGH JESUS our Lord.

Whenever you wish to return, we will welcome you with open arms.
With love and prayers in Christ.

Jesus said, "No man can come to the father but through me." This means that the Pope has no significance and neither do the priest. Jesus listens to prayer and decides punishment. The entire idea of confession is an abuse of the trust placed on the church. Jesus is your priest that you confess to, he carries it to the father. No one else is involved in that process. Find God on your own, or with like minds. Let him guide you and wherever you land, that is the true church for you.
