That you shouldn't laugh at someone when they fall? I always do and feel bad after the fact but can't stop laughing. Am I really a jerk for finding humor in misery?

if the person is hurt and you laugh it's rude. i can't say much, though, i laughed at someone who got run over by a car in the middle of the road (the sign read 'no walk' and he walked anyway). i felt really bad, but i have a habit of laughing at inappropriate times. sorry.

the guy wasn't hurt TOO badly. thank God!

It is commonly accepted to not laugh at someone who fell. But what is the first thing you see when you watch any show with funny home videos. Some dude fall split legged onto a pole. Its trained us to see the humor in humorless situation. If the person is allright, why not laugh?
I try not to, but seeing someone on there butt, confused as day is rather funny.

Talk about failure! I've been chuckling over your question for half an hour as it strongly contends that the real failure is somewhere within your own character. But, I have a question for you; Once you've just completed your best answer ever on YA and you're kicked off-line by your system before you can click "submit, is your undying laughter equal to that of other failures in your own life?

If you fell in front of someone and they laughed, how would you feel about it?

There are comical slips and falls, if their not hurt, then later over beer(s) with friends, you can tell them about how papers went flyings, legs all akimbo, and laugh your *** off.

Well its hard not to laugh, especially if they fell in a funny way. Most people laugh at themselves when they trip, so I just figure I'm laughing with them not at them.

You should try helping them up first, then laugh to brush off their embarrassment for them. If you don't want to do this, then yeah - you're kinda a jerk.

no, feeling this way means that your so not a jerk!! and its ok
I sometimes laugh too though its never my intention to hurt their feelings ...and if you mean it literally its ok but as a metaphor no!!you have to be there for the ones you care about..or else you are a jerk!

good luck!

I know how you feel. Well, sorry to say it, but it's really true. Once, I liked to laugh at such falls too but now I hv trained to stop myself from laughing. It's just plain rude.

It depends on how you take it, it also depends on the kind of fall, but depending in the situation, you can have fun or you should just don't laugh
