Aah, yes, the study of early Christianity! Luv that subject, indeed. If Christians were to seriously study it without any pre-conceived religious bent and with an open mind, they would most definitely look at Christianity differently--perhaps for the better.

Probably because that is not the way churches and worship services work. People learn of the Bible's teaching through these events which don't touch on things outside studying the literal word of the Bible. It is too bad though because their appreciation and understanding of the Bible and their religion would be much greater if they understood more about how and why the Bible was written. That is not to say many don't.

Ok, since you imply some expertise on the political atmosphere when the bible was compiled, tell us about all the influence(s) of the Jewish Sanhhedrin, the Roman Senate up to and including Emperor Constantine himself and to what political advantage(s) those in power would have at their disposal for manipulating the masses with corrupted versions of manuscripts already written. Tell us all about the Anabaptists who hid up in the hills around Rome who had the original texts that the Emperor wanted so badly that he signed their death warrants with the decree that they be beheaded when caught. Tell us all how this "political" environment created the resolve in the people to preserve at all costs the purity and content of these manuscripts they possessed. You should really choose your words wisely when posing such questions. I personally have forgotten more about this particular topic than you've ever known.

Let us say you are right (you are not). The Holy Scriptures that were compiled are indeed these so called Bronze age stories and whatever you wish to call the New Testament era. They did not write the Books they just put them together for their own political motives (as you say). So what? God guided even their cold little hearts and put together a concise book that has the power over life and death. It is a Book that changes lives forever and that can be good or bad, but change them it does.
God has used people that were working their own schemes and God used them for his will. Take any captivity for example. You do not think the Kings of Persia, Babylon and Assyria were going "he God want me to go over and teach your children a lesson?" No, this is absurd. God allowed them to take his people as a way of punishment. The same could be said for your argument. God brought together men that had "their own agenda and bias." So in the end we get what God wanted us to have and it is good enough for beggar and king alike.

Why do so many evolutionists lack any knowledge about the numerous hoaxes and downright lies have been fed to them regarding evolution?
Piltdown man
Peking man
'missing link' dinosaurs to birds
****** - 'missing link'
Pygmies - 'missing link'
Aborigines - 'missing link'
Jews, scientifically 'proven' to be sub-human by the greatest scientific minds of our day.
How much more racist can you be? The evolutionary 'scientists', trip and fall on every doorstep they try to step over. And the ignorant masses actually BELIEVE this hogwash.
I think with a little more understanding, they will see that evolution has more holes in it than Swiss cheese.
And they call Christians blind.

These are people that lack understanding about the politics of the days when America was founded. And that was only a couple centuries ago.
How do you expect them to do research on a time period that came and went thousands of years ago?

People see what they choose to see. If they want to make mortals immortal they will. The politics of the time have no bearing to the faithful anymore, mostly because they feel they have no use for it.
Its part of human nature. Sorta like selective hearing, only hear the parts you want to hear, believe what you want to believe.
