Many say they were "24 hour days" but how can they be or how do you know they were if there were no sun, moon or stars.

Where does Paul say that we are still in the 7th day?
Secondly, are you saying that scientists are correct in saying that the earth is millions of years old?
Can we REALLY be in God's "day of rest". It would appear that He hasn't rested at all since Adam ate the fruit.

After day three God created sun, moon and stars. There is no reason to believe that days AFTER this were anything but 24 hours (including day seven). But before this?

Yes "a day as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day" but this does not apply here.

Another question arises, "How can plants survive without sunshine".

Come on. Put your thinking caps on. Some serious answers please.

Interesting question. As the length of a day is the time it takes the world to rotate on its axis from sun zenith to sun zenith on the equinox, a period of 24 hours, NO SUN there would be no way to measure its length. However, as the term "day refers to period of time between one sunset and the next - approximately 24 hours - there is no reason, biblically, to think it is anything but that period.

No sun no vegetation? Fact! But where did the light come from? It was, probably the Glory of God. Anything that is life will grow in that Light and anything that is death will die in that light.

I'll go for 24 hours. But also opt for a pre Adam creation too.

I am a Christian but not a creationalist. I know you said you didn't want to hear from us and I apologize but I thought this might interest you. I asked about the earth's rotation on the science forum and got this answer concerning how long a day was when the moon was first created. Hope it helps. God bless!

Actually, we *are* slowing down. Back when the moon was first created, the Earth's rotation was about 10.5 hours; slowly, over time, our day has gotten longer & longer, until the 24 hour period we see today... as a result of our slowing, and losing rotational energy, it's been transferred to the moon - and it's distance to Earth is slowly lengthening every day. Eventually, if the sun were to last that long, Earth's day would equal the moon's orbital period, an estimated 32 days, when *all* the Earth's rotational energy were drained & added to the moon's kinetic energy.

We see that the days in Genesis chapter one, the creative days are scripturally proved not to be 24 hours each. In Hebrews Paul speaks about the seventh creative day as not having finished yet, and it is clear from the points Paul makes that the rest refers to God Kingdom, Christ's 1000 year reign.

Since today, many C. denominations claim that it is at least 6000 years from Adam's being created, we may then conclude that each creative day is at least 7000 years long, or longer.

Why longer perhaps? The Bible nowhere at present shows when this day shall finish. It is then possible to extend the length of each creative day to match the time the scientist claim has passed since the sun became a main-line sun.

well before the creation of these things there was only darkness. Of course time in days is only relevant to earth as it rotates toward the sun
