the violence in a particular country as christian violence or hindu violence but do they not see that it is not mandated in their scriptures to kill people of other religion where as in islam it DOES ask believers to kill FOR islam! There is a difference between self defence and religious aggression! Are others not even allowed to defend themselves against muslim aggression and should sit still while the muslim cuts off his head because secularism guarantees the muslim to believe he has a right to do so?

Ha I agree with you yar!

Those with Anti-Hindu sentiments are called secularists.

Go and see how innocent Hindus and sikhs are killed in Kashmir by the terrorists. The congree raises Gujrat issue to garner the votes of minorities but they tend to forget that During 800 years of muslim rule they have raped and killed millions of Hindus. "Jizya" tax was leivied on Hindus.

I'm frustrated talking about this. Gandhi erred during the partition. If he was a bit sane we would have avoided these problems.

I agree that Islam tells us to kill people, but you need to know under what circumstances. Did you know that a Muslim is condemned to death in an Islamic court (if found guilty) if he kills non-Muslim for the reason you mentioned.

All these is rules and regulations are to be followed at the time of a conflict. Even if we take rules of engagement have you heard about the rules about prisoners of war in Islam?

You seriously need to get your facts right because ignorance is the mother of all evil.

If you really want to understand Islam and read the Qur'an then I would like you to start with an open mind, don't just read it like a story book, and look for the reason behind a particular instruction. What time (situation) has this particular revelation been sent down onto the Prophet (P.B.U.H.)? Because of this particular instruction what was the effect on the existing society then and hence what will be impact of that instruction on the society today.

This is a new one. Please enlighten all of us as to which particular secular state you are referring to. As per your question, "secularism guarantees the muslim to believe he has a right to.." kill "for Islam" ? I am not aware of any secular state which provides such "guarantees".
I am sure you too, will not be able to name any secular state which provides the "guarantees" described by you, and therefore it appears obvious that your question is put, not out of idle curiosity or any genuine quest for knowledge, but merely to foster bigotry and hatred, as though there isnt enough in the world already. If you look around you with a rational mind, you will observe that the average Muslim person is as pre-occupied as the average Hindu, Christian or any other person of any other faith - with figuring out how best to make ends meet, to pay for his mortgage, to put food on the table, to fund his kids education, and all other mundane essentials of daily life. In other words the average Muslim person is as good, bad, clever, stupid, as the average person of any other faith. I would be very surprised if the average Muslim could spare the time to think of doing the things you describe. Please consider this.

How can oppression be allowed in Islam when the God Almighty is against any oppression and He is not oppressing and is most Merciful. The verses of Holy Quran mentioning 'fighting' are related to war-time and apply only to those who wage war against Islam.

Suppose the US army commander ordered to his army during the Vitnam war that' wherever you find Vitnamis, capture them or kill them'. He meant the Vitnamis that were fighting US troops. Just suppose a vitnamise today was reading this quote unknowing its context, how would he feel. He will say, US is very oppressing.
Likewise there is a context behind the revelation of those above verses and hence It is said, 'half knowledge is very dangerous'.

I have not got any problems with MF Hussain. i'm satisfied that he has opted to stay out of this mess and delivered the citizenship of Qatar. His decision must be respected. As a rustic we deserve the likes of 'Ayeshas and Mahas' and not the likes of Sanias and Hussains. this is with the help of the fact the proud Hindus pick to have their say be powerful.

No religion has given any right to anybody to cut off some body's head.
There are more and more scope of tolerance in Islam and some fanatic people are misguided and act at their own for which religion is to be blamed.

Secularists are more dangerous than the muslim terrorists. No question of sitting idle. Retaliate in full vengence.

So now us secular types have a brigade, huh? -- funny, I don't remember signing up.

If you're going to accuse people of saying certain things then you really should provide citations, otherwise nobody will take you seriously.

As salaamu 'alaikym.
Insha'Allah, you and I must be reading very different copies of the Holy Qur'an!
In the Holy Qur'an, Muslims are told specifically to limit all warfare so that the same is only exercised between armed combatants and excludes the general population (children, women, the elderly, sick, disabled, etc.)
In the Holy Qur'an, we are told to only take up arms in defense of our religion (to defend against an aggressor who is attacking you so as to deny you the right to practice Islam), in defense of your home and family (to defend against an aggressor who attacks you to take your land and possessions) and to defend those who are too weak to be able to defend themselves whether those you are defending are Muslims or not.
In the Holy Qur'an, we are also instructed to stop all hostile actions when those who we are defending ourselves against sue for peace. We must then grant them peace and an end to the hostilities and abide by the agreed upon terms of the peace accord or settlement.
In the Holy Qur'an, we are instructed to never force anyone to convert to Islam. Doing so must be a free choice of the individual. In fact, in the practice of Islam, Muslims have built synaguoges and cathedrals for Jews and Christians so as to support them in the practice of their faiths. They are called "ahl al kitab" or "people of the book" as Muslims see them as brothers and sisters who sacred writings, although corrupted, are or were divine revelations from Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala (God, Glorified and Almighty) just as the Holy Qur'an is, although the Holy Qur'an has not been corrupted.
Islam is the "religion of peace" through one's submission to the Will of Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala. Muslims are told to greet everyone with "peace" (As salaamu 'alaikym means "peace be upon you") and to live accordingly.
Yes, there are "extremist" who have twisted the meaning of the Holy Qur'an and who are leading many others astray. They have done unspeakable things to so many innocent individuals and, in doing so, have defamed and slandered Islam. In the Holy Qur'an, there is a stern warning for them which tells of the retribution Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala will extract from them as what they have done is the worst sin one can commit. The "Day of Judgement" will not be a happy day for them as they will receive the scroll of their sins and transgressions in their left hands!
What these extremist have done and are doing may be likened to the violence of the Roman Catholics and the Protestants in Northern Ireland, as an example of other extremist committing crimes against humanity in the name of their God.
Unfortunately, the voice of moerate Islam, a voice which decries the actions of the extremist and has been doing so from the time they began to behave in such a manner, has gone unheard in this country due to your media seeking only the more sensational stories so as to get a "higher rating". The Goverment of this country also does not want the true voice of Islam to be heard as then they could not continue their campaign of lies which lead to the invasion of another soveriegn nation so as to overthrow a government that this country help to create and once actively supported.
Insha'Allah, I don't know where you have gotten your misguided information from but your sources must be suspect, to say the least. Instead of continuing with your "Islam bashing", although the same is a very popular game in the Untied States, why don't you read a good translation of the Holy Qur'an (I suggest a translation because I doubt that you now know how to read Arabic, the language in which the Holy Qur'an was revealed and in which it is still maintained to this day). Yusuf Ali has made a very poetic and curretnly popular translation that I would reccommend. Then read a good biography of the Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him. You might like the one by Karen Armstrong, "Mohammad, a Prophet for Our Times". Then read "Towards Understanding Islam" by Abul A'la Mawdudi.
After you have dnoe this, perhaps then we can continue this discussion.
Be careful as you will find many persons who say they are "experts" on Islam and who take lines or verses from the Holy Qur'an out of context and thereby twist the meaning so as to lead others astray. The same dire warning that will be applied to the radical extremist applies to these persons as well. Remember, you can "prove" anything and everything that you might wish to prove by twisiting sacred teachings, taking lines and verses out of context so as to change their meanings. Read entire surrahs, not just a line or two so as to get the whole "picture". Make certain where your sources are getting their information from as those who have been mislead often mislead others.
Until that time, insha'Allah, I will keep you in my prayers asking Allah Subhanna wa Ta'al to guide you in your spiritual journey towards the truth.
Ma'a salaam.
