There is the general Holy Spirit that was the only one known until Christ's death. It is that with which God creates or makes anything that he wants to come into being. (poor image: A human would probably compare it to his hands) While God himself has a body and a personal location, his spirit is omnipresent even beyond the boundaries of our universe.
The Helper and the Holy Spirit is not entirely equal. See links!
Before Christ died, he promised to send the Comforter, the Helper, the Paraclete -- this Helper the book of Acts tells us Christ got from his Father. It was only dispensed to the Saints or the Born Again, the Elect, the chosen or the Holy Ones. Not to any other group. It is Christ spirit because God sent it in Christ's name.

The Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity. He is fully God. He is eternal, omniscient, omnipresent, has a will, and can speak. He is alive. He is a person. He is not particularly visible in the Bible because His ministry is to bear witness of Jesus (John 15:26).
Some cults like the Jehovah's Witnesses say that the Holy Spirit is nothing more than a force (Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1985, pp. 406-407). This is false. If the Holy Spirit were merely a force, then He could not speak (Acts 13:2); He could not be grieved (Eph. 4:30); and He would not have a will (1 Cor. 12:11).

The Holy Spirit is the comfortor that was spoken of in the O.T.
Usually called "The Holy Ghost", it is God's Spirit, and is what we receive in our lives after we have given our hearts to the Lord and asked Jesus to dwell within us....Acts speaks about this as the Pentecost....hence where Pentecostal Churches took their name from.
When you have the Holy Spirit within your life, He not only "Comforts" the soul, but also blesses us with many "tools" we need in our daily walk by instructing, reproving, exhorting, etc.,. and the "mystery" of God's Word is revealed.....also it is through the Gifts of the Spirit that we are able to do the many things that Jesus did in the Bible.
Peace be with you :)

The Holy Spirit that is found in the Bible does certain things, and is certain things. He's called the Comforter, the Spirit of Life, the Breath of God. He's God.
