discreet means subtle or hidden... maybe you mean 'discrete'

a discrete variable has only certain allowed values, e.g. the number of cows in your paddock is a discrete variable as you can't have half a cow.

a digital signal also has certain allowed values e.g. the morse code is digital (short pulses or long pulses).

the main difference seems to be that discrete applies to numbers and digital applies to signals, but they are pretty similar ideas.

Digital is a system of representing a parameter by a series of bits in the 0 or 1 state that cumulatively represent an analog value. Present computer systems emphasize the use of 32 and 64 bit words. Each bit position in the word when it has a 1 value signifies that bit equals the value 2^n where n is the bit numbered position. ie., 0-32 or 0-64.

Discrete is a term assigned to a signal that is either on or off and is usually a momentary type signal used to control something. For example, on may be 5 vdc; off would ge 0 vdc.
