My anxiety is getting so bad ive had it a year now and ive avoided medication up untill this piont ive only been taking the meds two days but they are making me feel sick its like an acidy feeling and i feel all hot in my head and chest is this just me being paranoid about this or should i stop taking the medication. I couldnt even leave the house yesterday.

Im taking lexapro 10mg everymorning
And yesterday went into a panic so took a xanax and that seemed to bring me back down but i had a headache as if it was like a mild hangover or something. Im not sure if its just me making a big deal out of it coz the doctor said they take a week to work and that if they make me feel worse to let him know.
Has anyone taken this med before?

I was on Lexipro for along time and the side effects for thr first couple weeks were awful, but worth it in the long run. I felt nauseous all the time, dizzy, actually thru up a couple times. I swear, I felt PREGNANT, but my tubes are tied. I felt tired and felt car sick riding in a car. As for the anxiety you feel..when us neurotics(I love the word) start treating our mood disorder, it makes us anxious...cuz we think about it 24/7. The lexipro won't turn you into a nympho or instant public speaker, but a much calmer self. your racing thoughts and worries will slow down, your paranoia will subside. I avoided banks, left hand turns @ intersections, u-name-it..before. I still feel edgy @ times, but haven't had panic attacks where my heart pounded, my breathe was being sucked right out of me, and I was going to either faint or go crazy. Let the meds get in your system..take a xanax if needed..take a nap..if they are too strong, tell your doc..My side effects did subside, but what a ride it was at first!!! good luck and hugs to you!! ooooooooo

I can't take drugs period, if I do by the third dose I can't digest a thing and it takes forever for my digestion to come back. I'm saying all this to say you can have a bad reaction at any time even before your doctor said they would begin to work.

Let your doctor know what you are experiencing and that you took those two medications back to back like you did.

I don't have an anxiety disorder but I recently had a serious bout of anxiety when I made a lot of changes in my life and I had extra stress because of that. I go to a naturopath so my doctor was able to put me on a flower essence remedy and within a few days I was doing pretty good. I believe mental issues should be treated by a naturopath that does muscle testing, which tests to make sure you are on what will work for you from the start. Any time I have had any issue they were taking care of quickly in this way.

Do what your doctor says. I hope all works out. Down the road consider going to a naturopath as well.

Yes, I took Lexapro, and it made me gain weight and turned me in2 a Zombie. I couldn't even function, I was never happy nor sad, I had no feeling what so ever. I stop taking it cold turkey and had a week of moderate anxiety. I then started taking Wellburtrin XL, Once it started working it worked gr8, 4 my depression. after awhile in became less effective. I added Fluoxetine 20mgs than to 30. I am a different person, I haven't had an anxiety attack or symptoms of Dption, in months. U should check in2 serotonin rich foods, sunflower seeds, bananas, and a few more I can't think of now. Add it 2 your diet. I have adivan 4 attacks but haven't use it in over a year. Good luck, and I am proud of U seeking help in the 1st place. I put it off 4 yrs, I didn't know there was a life w/o unexplained sadness, guilt , and anxiety. Oh and if any1 else in your family is being treated 4 it, try what works 4 them, family members respond to same Meds.

I havent taken it before but I am aware that you can sometimes feel worse before you feel better. It will take a couple of weeks for your body to get used to them - stick with it and dont just stop them, they will make you feel better. Sometimes you just need something to break the cycle of anxiety!

Can I also recommend you read some books about anxiety - I went through this and was given a book by Claire Weekes - it really helped me understand why I was feeling the way I was and recommended things to do which helped when I got panicky.

I know the post before was trying to be helpful but I will point out - dont take St Johns Wort together with your tablets as they interact badly - it will tell you this with your medication. It is also better for depression than anxiety!

Stop taking the medication that your doctor gave you and, if you really feel that you should, then go back and see your doctor.

The medication that you have been given is addictive. I know, I suffered similar quite a few years ago. I stopped taking after a couple of days and coped on my own. A couple of years later there was a news report that showed doctors where prescribing medicines because they were rewarded for it.

You would be better of seeing your pharmacist - he or she will be able to make better recommendations - they are not usually offered the incentives!

Erectile Dysfunction can be devastating to men, and unfortunately, millions of men suffer from the condition. Learn how to cure erectile dysfunction https://tr.im/l0uhG

If you go to the doctor to talk about the issue, you’re likely to get put on one or more of the popular medications used to treat the condition. While they can be effective (temporarily), these medications come with a raft of side effects, some of which are decidedly unpleasant. Even worse, these medications aren’t really a cure, they’re more like a temporary workaround.

Worst of all, they tend to be really expensive. Month after month, you’re having to pay to work around your condition. That’s what the Big Pharmaceutical companies want.

I suffer with terrible anxiety and my doctor won't give me anything for it! I have trouble sleeping and I'm Bipolar as well. I live in the UK and thinking about changing doctor's as I know there are people who get Xanax and sleepers too. I also take Prozac 20mg and my doctor won't listen to me!

I hope you will read carefully---what you have done is probably gotten yourself in a bad way by something as a simple as your diet--the food you eat all day long. You are probably one of millions allergic to the chemicals and additives and sugars that are in our processed foods. MSG and artificial sweeteners are other poisons that have built up and caused your emotional short circuit. Doctors do NOT cure the problem--they mask it with drugs--another form of poison in your system. You must immediately stop drinking soda--of any kind. Nothing but natural juices or water--read the labels--high fructose corn syrup is BAD for you---drink water or tea or coffee. Alcohol is BAD for you---beer is bad for you--white flour and cheap bread is bad for you. Rice is bad for you. Cheap sugar cereal in the morning is bad for you. Immediately start a high protein low carbohydrate diet. Chicken, fish, red meat--no bolony--no sub sandwiches, no cheap cakes and pies and macaroni and cheese. You need lots of salad and fruit and melons. Change the diet and see results in a month or two--guaranteed. read the labels on food packages. any OSE is a sugar--malt and barley is a BAD sugar. have a baked potato with your meal. Make a nice fresh ingrediant stew. No grapes or raisins. Oranges are good. Go to a bookstore and get a book on natural diets and dietary health. You will NO longer have headaches and emotional issues after you try this for a month-- it takes a few weeks to clean out you system. Why eat bad when you can eat good. Chinese or oriental food is BAD--MSG is a preservative in lots of foods--do not eat these foods. Good luck
