I doesn't make any difference. Both could be true, both could be false, or only one true. But it is only really of importance to those who profit in some way.

If the Biblical account is literally true, then we are all descended from an incestuous relationship, because there was no other way to procreate.

But wait... Cain left and went to the land of Nod: 'And Cain knew his wife, and bare Enoch...' Gen 4:16-17. Now where did she come from, this wife that he 'knew'? She is not mentioned as being of Adam and Eve. So Cain found a woman who was not a sister. Therefore it was not incest, and therefore she was NOT descended from Adam and Eve.

So the Bible states quite clearly that we are not all descended from Adam and Eve. It could be that very few of us are.

And yet... the Bible still tries to build a genealogy, and talks of sons and daughters, and of 'Sons of God and daughters men'. Many offspring, and people living hundreds of years. One is even quoted as taking two wives Gen 4:19. Where do all the wives come from? If everyone is descended from Adam and Eve, the the incest and inbreeding would have been colossal, and with it would have many problems such as insanity that are associated with inbreeding.

Given all this, it is far more likely that Genesis is an allegorical tale of creation and the fall of man, than a factual account.

But science doesn't say we came from monkeys at all, if you knew anything about evolution you would think the opposite. In the chain of events monkeys may be related to us but are not our ancestors. There would be many arguments about the Adam and Eve story, but I'm not getting into that it's toooo big. Anyway it's not logical.

Adam and Eve is the story of God making a SPEAKING man
Adam was told his first JOB was to name all the animals.

There is no evidence that man came from monkeys
in fact by the basic laws of the evolutionary theory
monkey's would be too evolved to be our ancestors

I like to think of it like this

God made the Universe
God sent the 4 basic molecules of DNA throughout
the Universe in bucky balls.
Bucky balls hit Earth and because it was built so special
Life started here according to his plan.

Hi Nia, science used to say this in the early days but they soon switched to saying that humans and apes had one common ancestor but even this is still speculation on the part of science which does not take God and creation into the equation, it has to be said that although they claim this missing link? up to this present day no such creature has been found, so it is all still theory and not imperical proof.

The story of Adam & Eve is a lie. When members of the same family have children, the offspring are always born with genetic defects like sterility and Mongolism(Down Syndrome). If you want proof, marry your cousin and have children.
