.........when people were ignorant of science and so easily impressed, yet today, when we have gained a far greater understanding of our universe, the evidence is conspicuous in its abscence?

Dosn't he thrive on people worshipping him?

If that's the case, wouldn't a little bit of irrefutable evidence give him all the worship he wanted?

Irrefutable evidences:
1. Jesus is real, and resurrected - else the hundreds of followers would have not died for lies.
2. Human being can't find the source of eternity and perfection - none of us have seen them and experienced them.
3. Today's science does not disprove Christianity.

doesn't seem to do much these days, where are all the speaking burning bushes and other events. personally i would suggest that most of this came from Essenes a sect of Jews that were basically shaman like and practiced connections with god through the taking of narcotics. so basically its all some guys acid trip. however despite science there is yet no evidence to disprove the existence of god, only the fundamental principles of how atoms react to create matter etc. it could be that god operates at a level beyond our understanding. something a mere mortal may never work out because you would have to be a god to understand it. Christians were only created after Christ himself was realized as a concept. most of the big god acts happened in what we call the old testament or the story of the Jews, and Jesus which is actually Latin for Jacob was a Jew himself descended from the line of David, so really it should be Jacob Christ

It would seem that you think that people have changed since way back when. I would tell you that I think that they have not. You can find people who are still impressed by the idea of "Miracles". But I tell you, I really do not count "miracles" as being much at all. People are fooled by them every day. And Jesus had times when he wouldn't want to do them as a way to convince people. A few times, he did them just to show the Pharisees that he could do them on the Sabbath, in so doing, expressed defiance to them. ( He made sure that they were watching first ) .

Those that are led by God's Spirit have little use for miracles to convince them. They are convinced to the bone that God is active.
