According to mormons you have to be baptized. Even if you are already dead. In their temples they get baptized in the name of their dead ancestors.

Though Jesus did say, "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." Mr 16:16 that makes no mention of the scenario whereby one believes but hasn't been baptized.
The idea is that the quality of faith that saves is an application oriented faith - one which both calls Jesus Lord and intends to do what He says. And of the many things he commands - one is baptism.
So if you believe, then go get baptized. For why would you disobey if you believed? Does such a person actually believe in Christ, or it is only say they believe?
1John 2:3 "We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands."
And remember the reaction of the Ethiopian to the gospel. "as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, "See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?" Then Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."
Likewise after preaching the gospel "When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
So instruct that person that if they really believe, then they are to get baptized. And if they believe, then there's a whole lot of other instructions for them to follow as well as outlined in the New Testament.

Jesus came here to set an example and he was baptized.
The Bible says you will not enter his kingdom unless you have excepted him as your savior and are baptized by water
The thief on the cross was not but I do think Jesus makes exceptions if you truly except him while you are dieing and don't have a chance to, otherwise I think it is best to. To be baptized represents Jesus risen from the dead and receiving the holy spirit.

Heaven is not a place that you go to. It is a state of being. Didn't Christ say, " The kingdom of heaven is within you." Whether you are a Christian, Muslim, Mormon, Buddhist, Hindu, or whatever belief doesn't really matter at all. The One God has no religion for the one God resides within all of us. It is in everyone and in everything.
You can be in heaven when you are truly one with everyone. Then you will experience joy, peace, bliss and harmony.

Accepting Christ as your savior is not what Jesus said would get us into heaven. Read what Jesus said about going to heaven again and pay closer attention this time. Also try taking notes. Asking for guidance from The Spirit of truth inside you might help also.

Dusty45, God can accept or reject a person's baptism, and He can admit anyone into the Kingdom that He wants. Esau was circumcised, yet God did not accept that circumcision, even before he was born. What makes you think you have any power over God in being baptized, or selecting & accepting Him, or even losing your salvation for that matter? None of that belongs to you, it belongs to God. You obey His commandments, you should want to anyway as a Christian

Yes, you can. The thief on the cross, next to Jesus, didn't have time to get baptized, but he accepted Jesus and Jesus told him that he would be in heaven.

God makes the rules for getting into heaven, not one of 1500 different religions who claim that there way is the only way. Could God be stupid enough to permit 1499 religions to block the way to heaven? I don't think so.

apparently not. because supposedly the church said that when a child is born that child is covered in sin from satan. And the way to remove this is to cleanse them in baptism. HOW CAN AN INNOCENT BABY BE FULL OF SIN AS A NEWBORN!!!!!!
Nice thing to say to people to get them to embrace the christian church eh?
You should not have to embrace christianity to go to any afterlife. Just be a good person.
