My cat has been miaoing all the time ever since last night, we've given him his favorite type of can food but he doesn't want it and we open the door for him and he goes out and starts miaoing even more loudly, I can't stand it anymore, last night I couldn't even sleep and I don't know if he is a female or male even, when I brought him at the pet shop the keeper said he was a male, but my brother said he isn't because he doesn't have a pouch at the tail. Anyway please tell me what's wrong. Please this is urgent, I can't even eat breakfast anymore.

The best answer to this is to simply take him to the vet, he may be in extreme pain, and only the vet can tell you that. And the vet can figure what you can do to help him. Whether its he's in heat, and there's nothing you can do, or whether there is something wrong and you have to give him medicine for it. Talk to the vet, they know best.

First of all three years old is FAR from old, a well cared for cat will live to over 18, sometimes into their early 20's. Your cat is still very young. Sometimes bored cats get the "evening crazies" where they suddenly run around acting like a kitten. Is he neutered? If not you should get him neutered, also he should have gone to the vet for rabies and distemper shots, and the a checkup every 1-2 years. If you have not done this then you must take him to the vet - it could be something else such as impacted anal sacs that need to be expressed by the vet.

your cat is in heat get her fixed ASAP or you won't get any sleep. She is miaoing to attract male cats. The worst thing you can do is let it outside at night, call the vet and find out the best time to take it in. My cat was going in heat every 2 weeks the noise will drive you up the wall. Flip it over check to see if male or female

If he is acting really odd, take him to a vet. My cat acted really strange like this (meowing a lot and acting really anxious) once, and it turned out that was because he had a medical problem that could have killed him if we hadn't taken him to a vet. In particular, he had a blockage of his urinary tract that stopped him from peeing, so if we waited too long his bladder would have exploded and he would have died. Hopefully that's enough to convince you to take your cat to see a vet.

Sounds like your cat may be either in heat or ill.
I know this isn't what you wanted to hear, but take it to the vet. He can help. Unless, of course, you want to handle it. Trust me... you don't.
Hope this helps!
