If a person lived a live of peace, strived to help others, and was a good person-but didn't worship Jesus- and suddently died- would they go to Heaven, or burn in Hell?

If Nazi Josef Mengele, who delighted in torturing Jews and commiting geonocide happened to worship Jesus-would he see Heaven when he died?

Seems obvious- the sadistic murderer would burn in hell, the good person who helped others would see Heaven-

Yet I have met MANY Christians who insist your actions in this life mean nothing- you could be a serial killer- but if you worship Jesus, you'll see Heaven- and no matter how good you are, if you DON'T worship Jesus, you'll burn in Hell....

Is God really that illogical? (and by God, I don't mean jesus- he was just the messenger)

Though Jesus preached about God- i don't think he proclaimed "I AM GOD- WORSHIP ME OR BURN!!!!"

I would think the best way to honor Jesus is not to worship him as a god, but rather to follow his example- by trying to help others, heal the sick, feed the hungry, strive for peace....

Yes god is completely illogical and doesn't exist why waste your life worshipping someone? And why does he/she want us to worship them any way, and you should to all the good you can not in the name of religion but just because it's a good thing to do. If god and heaven did exist and he didn't let you in just because you didn't believe in him even though you were really good just proves what a completely big-headed idiotic, control freak he would really be. Religion is the disease of this planet and the more civilized and educated we become the weaker and weaker religion will become.

Romans 8 makes it clear that walking by Holy Spirit is needed. "Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind controlled by the sinful nature is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace. The sinful mind is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God."

Jesus said that when he returned to the Father, he would ask for the Holy Spirit to be sent. John 14:16.

Holy Spirit keeps you safe in this life and is essential to please God. The fruits of the Holy Spirit are love, joy, peace, goodness, mildness, kindness, long-suffering, faith, self-control. Galatians 5:22, 23. There is no way around it. If you don't have these qualities, then you don't really have the Holy Spirit.

tricky question but worship of God requires obedience and how one treats others is part of that obedience. Certain of the ancient kings thought the way you describe so they didn't officially become Christians until they knew they wewre dying so that they knew they would not sin again and all the evil they did did not count. Also look at heaven and hell as positional not places Those who loved God and wanted to be close to Him in this life are set closer to Him than those who wanted to not know HIm or wanted to do things their own way in this life. So basically each gets their desire and justice.

This was the thinking of the Church before Jesus came. That you can keep the law and stand before GOD and demand your place in in Heaven. If you are able to keep all of the law and not break any of it then that's awesome. I have never met anyone, Christian or non Christian that has done that yet.
If you are guilty of one, then you are guilty of all. What seems to be common these days is for people to fabricate their own law and if they somewhat keep it then they are on their way to Heaven with a self made ticket in their hand.
I want a relationship with GOD on his terms. Not mine.

Salvation and eventual eternal life are free gifts of God thru Jesus Christ and we really can do nothing of ourselves to merit this, however Christ is the way the truth and the life and we must imitate His holy life and this involves faith and good works to be truly justified.

Let's be real will we.has a deceased person ever came back to you and told you what it's like in heaven, not likely?
or has CHRIST himself told you that when you pass on, that you will go to the pearly gates and there you shall meet St
Peter= again not likely? So the next con-clusion would be
that there is no such PLACE as heaven, once you are dead
it's forever, there will be no coming back, and no here after!!!

We can never be saved because of what we do; we can only be saved because of what Jesus Christ has already done for us. Let me explain.

Our greatest problem can be put in one word: sin. Sin cuts us off from God, and sin also keeps us out of heaven. But how can we get rid of our sins? We can't erase them or cause them to disappear by ourselves; we don't have the power. The only way we can get rid of our sins is for someone to come along and take them away for us.

And that is exactly what Jesus Christ did for us. We are weighed down by the burden of our sins—but Jesus took that burden upon Himself when He died on the cross for us. To put it another way, He took the punishment we deserve when He went to the cross in our place. The Bible says, "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God" (1 Peter 3:18).

What must you do? Simply believe that Christ has taken away your sins, and then receive Him into your heart and life. The Bible's promise is for you: "To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12). Become God's child today by asking Christ to come into your life.

Do what you like, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. There is no heaven or god or angel or tooth-fairy. They are all made up. Sorry to burst your bubble.
