Fear of hell might be a motivation, but not the right motivation. The love that Jesus showed us when He died for our sin is a motivation, but I believe Jesus Christ as the Savior because He is.

Although fear is indeed the enemies weapon, it is nonetheless an instrument with which God will put to effective use in order to bring a person to a place of repentance and salvation in Christ and thereafter to mold us for His Kingdom purposes.

I know Christians who love the Lord but were brought initially to that point of repentance out of the revelation of the horror of an eternal death in Hell.

In the name of Allah the most Gtacious the Most merciful.

yes fear is the key .But fear of Almighty God and the punishment in the fire of hell is the deciding factor between heaven and hell.
Jesus is not our Saviour, God is !
The main criteria For admission to paradise is the belief in the absolute oneness of Almighty God ,The moment you join partners with God almighty ,give him sons and daughters and worship others besides Him you are destined for hell fire.

That was used as such on when I was younger. I grew up to know the other side of the story and I ditched both that fear and belief in Jesus Christ. Now I live without any fear and burden of any religion.

It would depend on the person. I am not one to think that there are 'pure' motives in any of us to believe. My reason is no better or worse than another's reasons. What we have in common is that we believe and end up trusting God.

For those who feel fear about what the Bible says about Hell, or what they believe to be true about Hell, means that they are responding to the Bible or are being drawn to God out of belief in Hell. To me that's faith! It's a response that says, " I believe it and I don't want that to happen to me. There's a way out of it, and I'm going to go God's way and He says that it won't happen to me then."

That can be,

b'cause you dont know what "hell" is all about man............... dont even think of it....... horrible, dangerous, painfull, burning in fire....... not just one minute or a day but for eternity................

so if you want to get out of this hell, you better believe in Jesus Christ. He is the only way to Heaven (to avoid hell)

I some time think why dont this people ignore about hell, many feel that it is a fiction or story. but it is true as you are true. your question is right.

Well, why else would preachers of Christiantity threaten others with the prospect Hell?

However, I believe it is of higher moral character to believe in Jesus because of his love, sacrifice, and overall awesomeness. I have truly never heard of such a great guy, I love him because i respect him and his kindness and wisdom, not simply just because i dont want to go to Hell.

You dont get scolded if u obey the rules, so u better obey them. Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation because He is the only one who Died for your sins and Rose again. Many others might have died for you, for the nation etc. but never rose again.

It's not a perfect motivation, but it's a good enough place to start. However, once one has belief in Jesus, one should strive to learn to love Him as He deserves to be loved.
