try the plug in another car first (Renault are known for odd ball fittings ) its cheaper to change the cigarette lighter assembly, any car breaking parts place has got them around £3, take your current tomtom adaptor with you to check (an old ford one works well )

Hello,
(ANS) The answer is No! not that I'm aware of. The problem with the Tom Tom in-car charger cable & the ciggarete lighter plug-in, is its a VERY poor design and so the fit is poor too. I try to avoid using the in-car charger cable that came with my Tom Tom.
**Solution, I went & bought a Tom Tom home charger cable which wasn't expensive (<£20) I purchased mine from "Part Master's" website over the internet. http://www.partmaster.com
This allows you to charge up your Tom Tom before a long trip (i.e. top up the internal battery) but this will only give you a maximum of 2hrs battery life. But its better than being purely reliant on the in-car charger cable.
**Its a limitation of design in the Tom Tom accessories as far as I can see, it works with some cars but not with others. Sounds like you've just been very unlucky with yours?
Hope that helps?
Best Regards Ivan (Tom Tom One owner).

When you say "Doesn't work", do you mean it doesn't fit or there's just no current flowing through the adapter?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but most cigarette adapters are standard, even around the world. If it's because it doesn't fit, then I'd ask Renault because the cigarette lighter port should be standard.
If it fits but there's no current flowing through it, then I'd ask your retailer or Tom Tom to have a look at it.
Have you tried it in another car?

Mine works ok in a Vauxhall. If it's a problem with the fit then the best thing to do is to get an extra socket fitted in the glove compartment. That's a lot tidier and you still have the original fitting available for say a mobile phone charger

I have had exactly the same problem. What I found is that you had to wiggle the adaptor until you see the green light on the cigarette charger go on. Once you have the right spot it should charge up. Failing that you can take your car into Halfords and they will fix it for you.

either in the cars fuse panel,or the tom tom adaptor plug itself or both.
